Experienced on the Oculus Rift
This is about a 3 minute long VR 360 cinematic experience. There are no interactions. There's not much of a story. The animations are mediocre. It's also a little confusing, I'm not sure I know exactly what the purpose of this was. It's supposed to be an underwater volcano eruption that shows how it forms into an insland chain which sounds very cool and something I would normally be interested in witnessing. However, the graphics / animations were done so roughly that it's difficult to be impressed by this massive change in geography, especially when it's sped up as it was here. Why were the Manta Rays and school of fish swimming so slowly if things are later sped up? It looked more like a toilet flushing more than anything else really. I'm not sure it's worth the download. Rate 5/10. Maybe if you're into this type of thing it's worth the download. Maybe. At least it looks like the devs did put some hard work / effort into this, even if it didn't quite pan out very well.

Volcano Eruption 10 из 10
It's free but can't recommend. There's no sound so zero emersion happening with the volcano erupting in silence. It only goes for a few mins but gave me a headache due to the awful stretching and skewing of the visuals as you move your head around. Graphics are pretty rough, no interaction present. I'm not quite sure what story (if any) it was trying show? Maybe the start of the formation of a volcanic island? Starts off with slow motion mantas and whales swimming then suddenly accelerates to show the volcano above the surface of the water.
Extrealy short and the scene warps when turning your head. At least it was free.
Wasted 5 minutes of my life.
Volcano Eruption is a free VR experience. It worked on my system, looked ok, played?, sounded ?. Mostly a very short loop of assets strung together. Does not make sense or look good. Maybe 2 minutes of content and 1 minute for the title page, then the loop starts again. Nothing to learn here either. Do Not download this.
Bir su altı yanardağ sahnesinin bir ada zincirine dönüşmesini içeren kısa ve tatlı bir VR deneyimi. Hareket etmeye gerek yok, sadece arkanıza yaslanın ve gösterinin tadını çıkarın.
"Volcano Eruption" is not a game. Games contain meaningful gamelike interaction and game loops, which are absent in this "art experience". Instead of being a game, "Volcano Eruption" is a software application that presents a poorly made art exhibition. This is a short Youtube video that shows a volcano erupt and turn into islands. It's ridiculous this was published as a "game" on Steam Direct. This is why Valve needs to reinstate QA to filter out this non-game crap... it's bad for everyone. We get this non-game shovelware on Steam whenever film school dropouts are desperate for anyone to give them validation, so they publish their short film on Steam because nobody watches their garbage on Youtube. There was a video section on Steam, but it's deprecated and basically closed, so failed filmmakers seem to just try to abuse the Steam games section instead. Why is this good for gamers? It's not. For those who don't know what defines a game, a "game loop" explains the interaction and feedback a gamer gets while playing a game. An obvious example of a game loop would be in games like Forza, where you drive a car in a circle. If you're faster and more skillful than the other drivers, you get rewarded for first place, then you find yourself back at the starting line for the next game loop iteration. Even open world/sandbox games like Minecraft feature a core game loop where you search for materials, use them to construct something, which rewards you in terms of increasing your progression and allowing you to repeat the next loop to get more and better materials. Those are game loops. This has no such game loop, no genuine interactive feedback. It just isn't a game, it cannot be "played". This has misleadingly been launched in the "Games" section of Steam instead of the "Software" section. This is a common mistake for developers who are new to Steam, or don't understand the difference between games and software which isn't a game. It seems this software published incorrectly as a game is simply lack of experience/knowledge of the correct process. Here's a link for the process to publish non-game software/non-game "art experiences" on Steam: Steam Developer Help With Software Publishing It's disappointing this process was not identified or used, causing a non-game "art experience"/Youtube video to be published in the incorrect area. Publishing Youtube videos on Steam in the Games section as games is misleading to gamers and somewhat harmful, because it pollutes the Steam marketplace and takes away visibility and market exposure for genuine game developers who do the right thing and make games for gamers. There are no gameplay loops in this failed film school dropout project, no "gameplay", no significant game like interaction. Therefore, this has no value as a video game, and I cannot recommend this non-game to any gamer. A peak of 6 concurrent players for a "free" product is a disastrous public reception. Out of 130 million potential gamers on Steam, almost nobody was interested. That level of rejection says everything.
