Feels like a modern version of a AA game you'd find in a Blockbuster or GameStop as a kid and become obsessed with. Given my love of games like Spore[/i[, Tokyo Jungle, Animal Jam, that one Ga'hoole licensed game, and anything WolfQuest-adjacent, I know for sure that 10 year old me would have become obsessed. I've been enjoying my time with it so far. While Voidling Bound is fun I wish it had a smidge more variety. There are only two mission types (plus the endgame mode) with two versions each. For the corruption-cleansing, you either get a linear level or a small open-ended level; for the survival missions, you either defeat a certain amount of waves or survive until a timer ticks down. While the levels and enemy types change, I wish some bigger curveballs were added here and there. It's not bad when you're going through the story, but given the amount of grinding you must perform in order to unlock more customization options and strengthen your creatures, that could really become a problem. The diverse sets of playstyles between creatures is cool, but I can tell that it wasn't always accounted for in the level design. Close-combat characters struggle to clear infections that were obviously made to be struck at a distance and are more susceptible to being damaged by infection as they destroy it. Any areas that are required to be cleared are always doable with your kit, even if it takes a bit longer and loses you some health, but the optional pieces sometimes just have to be left there. Maybe you can clear them but I stopped trying after a while. I also wish there were more ways to manage your genetic weirdos a-la the palico management in certain Monster Hunter games.

fun
What a gem of a game. I first heard about it because I learned the team behind this developed parts of the Skylanders games, then I played their free demo. What a blast. Me and my chicken Food Poisoning are rolling through silliness now. It's fun, it's refreshing, it's worth the $25 price tag. Great experience.
Its awesome I love being able to play as creatures. I hope they add more to the game
love this game
This is the game for people who like the idea of a creature collector game but don't actually like any of the pokemon digimon or palworld games. It reminds me a lot of a blend between ratchet and clank, diablo, destiny, and monster hunter. If you like at least two of these games, you'll like this one. My one complaint is that there are very few maps. in comparison to something like ratchet and clank where there are like a dozen planets, this game only has 3 and a half. Gameplay wise, this isn't really an issue but with the amount of evolution options there are and builds to make, they'll get really repetitive after you explore some of the creature builds to their fullest. At minimum I would love for this to become successful enough to inspire a sequel. If not that, then I would love to see some rockin DLC's in the future.
Needs more content and workshop support but it is a great concept for fans of the genre. I really like the evolution concept. EVO Search for Eden remaster anyone?
