NO OFFLINE PLAY INTERNET ACCESS REQUIRED TO PLAY 3RD PARTY ACCOUNT CONNECTION REQUIRED cannot play without linking steam account with their system. Trying to play offline gives an error and if you try to play completely without internet you get a cannot connect to master server connect to internet to verify and the only button you have is quit
I rediscovered VoidExpanse in my library and wondered why I had not played it for so long. After an hour, I remember why I uninstalled it. - You can only play if the connection to their server can be established. For no conceivable reason, you cannot play offline. - Trading is a hassle, as the game does not track which station sells what, and at which price. Better be prepared to make a spreadsheet. - No further development is happening. I totally understand that, as nobody is playing it anymore. Or should I say, nobody is buying it anymore? Flying around is fine, mining is fine, combat is ... doable. I am going back to Star Valor, the currently best comparable game. Unless you like trading with spreadsheets and micromanaging battles with your fleet, then Star Sector is probably your favorite.
RNG top down space shooter with everything that should be done included: trading, space battles, mining for resources and in general different missions. Simple and intuitive that's what I like about this game. Install new equipment and parts by drag and drop into right slot. Soundtrack is decent. Gameplay is basic but works well. Safe buy if you like space games like me.
This is a chill Space Exploration game but you should not have big expectations. The visuals are cute, 3d effects on "kinda" 2d space looks nice. The combat is not bad and the story keeps you busy first maybe 10h or so. Unfortunately the game is plagued by - Limited visual assets (all systems look the same, too few types of enemies, space stations are the same etc.) - Very easy to earn money. Even with very difficult settings, you get super rich in the first 10-15h and if you use your skills correctly you get to the end game ships / items way too early. That means rest of the game you'll not feel any improvement other than your skills. - And the most worst part is you travel between systems in the same pace. At the beginning maybe very little but in late game you'll use autopilot and ignore all enemies 90% of the time because the quests are the main resource of money and xp. I still like what they did here, I can give a 5/10 and good to try as it's a pretty cheap game. But I was not able to finish main story unfortunately.
It's not bad just really in need of polish. Void Expanse does a lot of things just fine just not well enough to make it stand out. If you're a fan of such games you'd probably enjoy it a bit but not necessarily more than anything else.

If you love space games but don’t want to get bogged down by overwhelming mechanics, VoidExpanse is the perfect middle ground. It’s not trying to be Elite Dangerous or Star Citizen, and that’s exactly why it shines. If you ever enjoyed old-school space games from the DOS era or the 90s/early 2000s, VoidExpanse will hit you right in the nostalgia while still feeling fresh. It’s a top-down, open-world space RPG with trading, combat, exploration, and RPG elements all without the overcomplication that plagues many modern space sims. And the best part? It’s affordable. No overpriced DLC (the one i brought at full price was like 7 bucks australian), no bloated microtransactions it was just a solid, fun game that delivers exactly what it promises. It’s a game that lets you jump in, explore, trade, fight, and carve out your own adventure without a massive learning curve. The combat is fun, the trading is satisfying, and the modding community adds some great extras to expand the experience even further. Whether you want to be a merchant, a bounty hunter, or just roam the galaxy at your own pace, i find this game gives me that freedom without dragging you down with unnecessary complexity. It’s one of those games that you can fire up, get lost in for a few hours, and walk away feeling like you had a blast. If you enjoy top-down space combat like i do with a sandbox feel, this is absolutely worth your time. Highly recommended! If you guys ever do decide to make more DLC or a VE2 id be down for it. i frankly don't understand the negative reviews i have read seems most people want a game this was not. Except for the crashing ones those i get, no one likes to crash, and when your not playing your reviewing am i right, that's why i chose to review right when im enjoying this most.
It's a simple Top Down 2D game that tried to access a restricted folder on my computer.
Very specific game where the only goal is to relax and switch off Your brain. almost no skills involved :)
Good quality but extremely basic space game. Ill give it a thumbs up, but 5 out of 10 kind.
