Reviews

Decent FPS roguelike
0 to 10 scale, I rate this an easy *7*, and very closely approaching an 8. The best compliment I can give this game is that I never stopped having fun. This might’ve changed had I gone for more playthroughs, but the ~35 hours I spent on this game were a blast. It’s an FPS you play in 6 to 10 minute segments (due to it’s rogue-like nature). The gameplay is super simple, but also very polished. They took a basic recipe and made sure it came out clean. An easy recommendation if you like these types of games. Let me get this off my chest: I hate when I can’t fully remap my K/M controls. Sadly, this game has that restriction. If you dig around in the Community Hub, you’ll find a small mod that let’s you change that. I used this mod. I admit if I didn’t, it would have negatively affected the score. The graphics are accurately represented in the videos/pics provided, so it’s up to you if you like its cell shaded style. I will say the gameplay tends to be slower than the trailer shows. For me, this game was more about “surviving” than it was “rampaging”. I spent a lot of time purposely avoiding enemies, or using the environment to trap them, rather than just mowing them down. Gameplay itself is simple: every “level”, you choose 3 weapons. Then, you can shoot, jump, duck, and close/lock doors. That’s it. Every level takes ~10 min or less. You gather as much loot as you can so you can build/upgrade stuff between levels. There are a LOT of upgrade paths, so you get a good choice in how you play. In addition, there are several difficulties and “modifiers” you can apply to extend replay-ability. I have a large backlog, so I kept playtime short, but you could easily take this game 60+ hours. The 1st playthrough is really just the beginning.
This ♥♥♥♥ kinda sucks
Cool aesthetic and solid gameplay loop! Shame about the unfunny dialogue and racist developer name.
