About

Welcome, oh valiant adventurers, to a domain where the power of your voice is the key to your survival! Introducing Voice Quest, a 3D platformer experience that defies the norms and redefines interaction with your character.
In this quirky, whimsical realm, you don't simply control the character; you become Shadow Man. Your voice is your ally, guiding you through a world fraught with challenges and rib-tickling humor. Command your movements with the power of speech, from a gentle walk to a swift run, a daring jump, or even a moment of silence to regroup. Direct your path by aiming your gaze, using either your trusty mouse or controller.
Your journey will be riddled with delectable bananas to collect and nefarious strawberry monsters to dodge. These strawberries are not your ordinary garden-variety pests; they are the evil incarnate, determined to halt your progress. Each level scales in complexity, challenging your dexterity and strategic thinking, all while a giant skull delivers a constant stream of wisecracks at your expense.
The dynamic music score serves as the heartbeat of the game, adapting to your progression through each level and syncing in harmony with the in-game time. As you ascend through the levels, so does the rhythm of your adventure, creating an immersive experience that keeps you on your toes (and your vocal cords)!
But fear not, dear players, for this is not a tale of solitary heroism. Voice Quest hosts a worldwide leaderboard showcasing players who dare to defy the odds. Compete for the highest honors in multiple categories, including speed records, banana collections, least deaths, and for those who truly excel, a special category for the fastest times with the most bananas and least deaths.

The on-screen display serves as your personal scribe, keeping you apprised of your death count, banana haul, and current time. Future updates promise to add even more features to the OSD, including your personal best times and the reigning world records.
Voice Quest is not just a game; it's a platformer experience that pushes the boundaries of interactive gameplay. It's a symphony of voices, humor, and fun, where every shout, whisper, and laugh brings you one step closer to becoming the ultimate Shadow Man!

Truly, it's as simple as saying into your microphone (whichever is your windows system default microphone) either "jump", "run", "walk", or "stop". Otherwise, you steer the Shadow Man with either your mouse or gamepad.
Full controller support coming soon but does work in game perfectly. Run's great on the Steam Deck. Try your hardest to enunciate and - if possible - use your best American accent.

This is a good proof of concept for a solid voice control game. Sadly i ran into some issues where the game would lag and not pick up my mic anymore. That aside still worth the money spent.
Unique concept. This is a platformer with unconventional controls, which adds for it's own twist on typical platformer challenges. Excellent chance to test out how you feel about voice controls.
This is a really great game for people who love a challenge, and it's great for me personally because it allows me to give my hands and wrists a break while still having fun! (I had really bad carpal tunnel last year that required physical therapy to heal, and well working seasonal retail caused some minor flair ups, which have thankfully died down.) I'm only on level 4, but from what I can tell each level is well thought out with challenges unique for each level, while also providing a call back to previous levels in terms of difficulty-normally in the case of upping the difficulty; but still a lot of fun figuring out the timing for things. XD
Game is so sick I threw up twice last night. It was 10/10.
I want to get first place on every leaderboard. And I'm just getting started.
Challenging and absolutely infuriating when the game doesn't recognize the "jump" command. I appreciate that you can take the game at an easier walking pace or accept a challenging running pace when your patience runs out. For future updates, I would like to see additional commands like "jump [X] times" or "dive" to reduce the repetition of the jump command and adds some variety.
Never been so angry and entertained at the same time, 10/10
