Vital Shell

An amazing game that shows you can do a lot with simple assets and great design.

An awesome Survivors type game. Feels like a game you used to play when you were younger, only to come back to as an adult and have a great time reminiscing about the late nights in your room, playing it in the dark. Sentimental BS aside, it was a lot of fun to play through. It was rarely unfair in the defeats I suffered, and the sense of progression from beginning to end was solid. It was an absolute joy to 100% the achievements for, and I hope for more Vital Shell in the future!

I got all the achievements in my playtime, well worth the time and it never felt like a slog like some other 100%s. Most of the achievements are tied to unlocks so going out of your way to get them is worth it. Enjoyable game with plenty of content and it's worth the price.

What if, instead of Castlevania and slot machines, Vampire Survivors had taken inspiration from the PS1 Armored Core trilogy and mid 90's arcade sensibilities? If that sentence grabbed your attention in any way, download the demo and give it a spin. It speaks far better for itself than I ever could.

Way more challenging than I expected. And while I don't like how auto-attack isn't a toggle, this is a MUST BUY.
