I'd say my review for this one is much the same as for the sequel. If you want to vibe and chill with a VR experience, look no further. Sometimes you just don't want to move, but you still want to fight sleep and VR a bit in bed. Long day at the office, Visonarium will be there to get you out of that headspace for a while. You'll see I've played 7 hours of a not 7 hour game, so i've rolled thru it multiple times and enjoyed it each time.
Drugs are bad...mmmkay? Don't do drugs boys and girls. If you do drugs, you'll make a crappy game and try to rip people off for $10 at a go. I got this in a bundle of VR games. It cost me $0.50/game. I still feel ripped off. This is just a bad experience. Poor graphics and horribly bad music. No point to it. This is, without question, the most pointless VR experience I've tried in years of owning a headset. It's basically a crappy screensaver with even more crappy music. In the 32 minutes roughly of the experience, I spent about 31 minutes and 45 seconds waiting for it to end. It just...it's dumb. It's pointless. If it were free, it would still be a waste of 30 minutes of your time and not worth that. The fact they're asking $10 is criminal. The ONE thing I can say that isn't negative is that if you look at the % of positive reviews, you can clearly see the % of drug users, because you'd have to be high to enjoy this trash. Not even joking, even at free it isn't worth the time you'd waste.

Reminds me of a VR version of the Digital Illusions (DICE) 4 kilobyte surreal graphics demos from back in the 90s. Great stuff!
Incredible psychedelic experience. Art is amazing. But definitely pick the smooth and/or easy mode if you're new to VR.
It's okay. Good music. Graphics are pretty boring. I was disappointed and quit before the end.
The key to a good VR trip is decent visuals with smooth movement, plus the crucial ability to add your own musik: naturally I added some choice cuts from the dark/forest/hi-tech psy-trance scenes. The visuals complemented these favourite tunes nicely, putting me in the mind of a psychedelic journey to inner alien realms while having a good dance. It was so enjoyable I'll do it again with old-school Goa next time. My own settings: set Rift S resolution to 200%, Heavy camera movement and just go with the flow. You don't control anything, other than some strips of light which you can have some limited fun with. Note: this isn't a game, it's only a psychedelic trip visual experience that lasts about 20-30 minutes. If you like that sort of thing and have your own taste in trippy tunes then it's worth the few euros, sure. Put on your best headphones! EDIT: Alas, some negatives which I realised on my second play: 1) WAVs are claimed to be supported but crash the game every time. This took me a few attempts to figure out, so made the 2nd-point below quite frustrating... 2) Those long-delayed press-option actions are very annoying, and utterly senseless: instead of selecting an option like almost all menu options ever created (where they instantly react), you have to point your head at your preferred option and wait 2 seconds for it to select. When you want custom-music, you have to do this 6 times before the experience starts...so when you're constantly restarting the game due to crashes this gets old quick. 3) the menu for choosing your custom music during play is extremely unresponsive & buggy. You'll be lucky if you manage to select a track. Pausing is near-impossible...the buttons just don't react. You're better off leaving 3 or 4 favourite tracks in your music-folder, moving the rest elsewhere before starting the program. Furthermore: I wanted perfect audio for my second play, but with WAVs not an option I at least wanted to use the line-out via the motherboard (which offers greater dynamics than the phones-output of the Rift): the line-out was selected as system-default before starting, yet Visionarium kept using the Rift S output anyway...I had to go deep into Windows options to manually-select Visionarium to use the motherboard's line-out, then restart the game (again!). I'm not sure if this is specifically this game's fault...it may be a Steam/Oculus thing. ...so my second play was so stop-start i didn't have the stamina to do the full experience once I finally got the setup working...but I did do one full track (a 320kbps MP3 of the relentless intense trance of Goch - Inner Sphere), which equated to roughly the first 7 minutes of Visionarium...and to end on a positive note it was a fantastic combination! So I'll do it again in a few days now knowing how to more efficiently avoid the bugs. Still recommended as the visuals are proper! But the presentation could be more polished.
I got this on sale ($5.19), but full price ($7.99) would also be well worth it, imo, and the only thing I've looked at so far is the main experience with provided music. It's like a 30 minute flying tour through an animated Alex Grey-esque tilt brush painting. If that sounds even slightly interesting, you're going to love this.
Straight up? Visionarium rocks. It's a decent length for a VR music experience and feels like being transported into someone's creative brainstorm. You'll be floating through a variety of scenes that feature some elements of animation and plenty of shifting colours throughout, set to a grooving, exotic soundtrack. The artists behind this really put their best foot forward producing this magical, spiritual VR journey.
Doesn't work with Pico 4 controllers, unfortunately. I can create coloured lines with my triggers, but I can't choose my own music or select a scene, for example. A fun VR journey if you get it on heavy discount though.
Це не гра, а ВР тріп на ~20-30 хв. Графіка така собі, а от музичка дуже непогана тут.
