About
The visionary journey continues! Visionarium 2 The Descent is a follow up VR experience by multimedia artist and solo indie developer Sander Bos.
In Visionarium 2, you will descend into the dystopian crevices of our times. This audio-visualizer features an archetypal underworld experience, inviting the journeyer to surrender to the darkness as a way to break through and enter visionary states.
Most of the artwork is painted in Tiltbrush and other VR creation tools, trying to make the most out of VR as a new artform.
Like in the first version, the experience includes a fixed soundtrack by various musicians and the possibility to add your own music of preference.
Featuring music tracks from Treeboga, Kaminanda and Dreamstate Logic
Experienced on the Meta Quest 2
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/UwxLAyQJGtE If you enjoyed the first Visionarium, then I believe you will also enjoy this one. It is an approximately 38 minute long, music video / music visualizer / art experience. The experience was mostly made with Tilt Brush. I would say there are three chapters / parts to the experience, each with a different theme. The default experience is linear and on-rails. However, you can decide to play your own music, use microphone input, or use free flight mode (you can fly anywhere you want). You can also use your inputs on your motion controllers to create different effects. You can light up the world with neon lights or paint colored lines as you glide through the air. App is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting steady 90 fps at high graphical settings. I did not experience any serious issues or bugs. Snap turning is available, therefore you can play this app comfortably seated. I think the artist, Sander Bos, did an amazing job. Really did the most with Tilt Brush to make this a truly unique & visually trippy experience. I actually like this better than the original experience as it's artsier & more creative IMO. The default music matched the artistic world & feel. The app also had a very touching message at the end. It is a bit on the pricey side, but I don't regret my purchase. Rate ?/10. I enjoyed it and recommend it, support the arts & artists!
If you enjoyed my review, please consider joining my Steam Curator Group. 👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑⠀⠀⠀

Follow Main group
Follow Second group
Follow Third group
English: Wow, another great journey through space and color with Visionarium 2 - The Descent by Sander Bos. I confess, I haven't seen the predecessor and since this version is supposed to be a lot better, I jumped straight in here. Visionarium is an audiovisualizer that we can even provide with our own input. For example, we can upload our own music and interact with the environment via microphone, which, to my shame, I haven't tried yet. The original music from various artists has already been perfectly selected for the first flight. According to the story that this trip seems to have, we enter the dark underworld in order to break through it in a visionary way. Okay. I simply enjoyed the fixed flight through the colorful world without giving it any philosophical thought. It worked just as well and I was thrilled by the colorful splendor and the varied environments. For a little more interaction, we can make particles appear and then let them swirl around us. Sometimes the surface of the objects around us also changes when we 'shine' on them (this looked great). However, playing around with the controller rather took me out of the immersion and I enjoyed the flight without further interactions and a clear view. The worlds we travel to are all designed using tools such as tilt-brush and the like and all look admirably beautiful. From organic environments to technical phenomena. The music starts off melodic to electro but becomes more experimental towards the end, adding to the experience of the journey. A successful virtual journey. To understand it, you have to have made it ... 👀Journey through colors and sounds🎊on my curator page. 👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑⠀⠀⠀

Follow Main group
Follow Second group
Follow Third group
With no age restriction and no content warnings, it starts with a dive into some slums and within a minute goes into displaying person committing suicide in an empty apartment in front of their TV. At this point I genuinely don't give a damn of whether it is going to look like screenshots, it is alt+f4 and negative review time. I am not against shock content in video games and other media, but mark it accordingly, damn it.
Visionarium 2 - The Descent is a paid VR music visualizer experience on rails. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. It is a 40 minute ride on rails in all directions. It has instructions. You can snap turn left and right. You can paint with particle effects as you go. Warning: can cause motion sickness. Maybe buy this VR experience, if you like things like this. I got a free key for this from the Steam Curator program. Another amazing artistic adventure. I love the "wow" moments, when you see how intricate the detail is on some structures, or when there's a new interesting color palette. Just when you think you know the theme, you're taken to another feel. I do wish there were a few of the more translucent "glowing strokes" style entities, from last time, though I do appreciate the more sophisticated attempt, just wish there were a few of those here, with what's new too. I do also wish it was 20% longer (that's what she said). It works with your own music very well this time, the option to "Listen to Background Audio", is always the best and simplest solution, for allowing a music visualizer, to react to your audio. All in all, another awesome fly-through an artists vision. Blacklightjimwolgemuth - Instagram (Art) / YouTube (Music) / Twitch (Live)
Was soll man da groß beschreiben?
In this "game" you float along a track through kaleidoscope worlds. You can't interact with anything and can only watch the animations which slowly move. I thought it was boring and it felt like a tech demo possibly for an art school.
It's psychodelic without drugs, 100% recommended, you really want to try it !
Awesome experience, if you can get it on a discount.
