Virtual Skate

Finding a good VR game that you'll actually enjoy playing is hard to come by, at least that was the case for me until I found Virtual Skate. The lobbies are fun and have kind players, the game mechanics are a little goofy but work rather well, plenty of work to be done but the foundation is there and is constantly being improved upon. The character creation is enough for the state of the game and I believe there is plenty of mods available. Also, there is a replay mode which is pretty neat, I think the camera could use some smoothing though because VR remotes have a lot of noise. I recommend this game if you are looking to have another great VR game in your collection and enjoy skateboarding.

Super awesome concept. The controls take a while to get used to, but you'll get them eventually. A little jank sometimes but it's early access. I dunno why auto turning with the board isn't enabled by default, having the world and your controls rotate away from you as you're moving around is sure to cause motion sickness in even the most experienced vr players. And even with the auto turn enabled it doesnt quite keep up. Steering is probably the hardest thing to control right now. I also find myself constantly hitting the push button instead of the pop button or vice versa, or holding the pop button too long when catching the board and accidentally popping again. Like I said, the controls take some getting used to, but I absolutely love the concept and i'm sure with some practice and further refinement they will be awesome. I was pleasantly surprised to find an active population of other players to skate with in a game with only 80 total reviews. The open world town style map they start you in has a few decent spots but it is very small and could definitely use further development. I really like the warehouse skatepark map, but its also fairly small and can only keep you entertained for so long. The game appears to have mod support for community made parks but I didn't see anything in the mod browser when I looked. More places to skate are definitely needed. In it's current state I think $20 is a little steep for what you get, it needs a story, some objectives, better customization, bigger more refined maps, and some competitive mini games like the old tony hawks would be pretty cool. Right now you're just free skating in a small handfull of maps, which is super dope, but it's a ways from finished. A great start to an awesome game. Hopefully they come through with a full release.

This has great potential, the community is amazing and the custom maps are really such a fun part of this game, This is definitely one of the fundamental games every VR gamer should have in their library

Having skated irl and played nearly every major skateboarding release since 1980, i can, with 100% confidence, say, that this is one of the worst representations of skateboarding in a video game, ever. You don't use your hands to skate. That isn't how it works. And it doesn't work here either. Along with your shoddy camera design. I know what the devs were trying here, but cashing in on some gimmicky bs must have seemed easier. The game design in itself isn't terrible, the maps aren't bad and the multiplayer is full of abusive, idiot, children. Again. You don't skate with your hands, and i'm not down for "Handboard simulator".

Easily one of the best skate/vr games ever made. Everything down to skating around, flips, grinds, ect feels sooo smooth. only thing missing from this is more custom option for your skater/board (its early access i know). If this gets modded characters and boards this game will be perfect! 10/10 PLEASE SUPPORT THIS GAME ITS TOO GOOD [UPDATE 11/9/25] - Next update will include modded boards & character stuff, 999/10 the game is now perfect <3
