2 hours in and unlocked 2 planets as of now but I'll definitely continue playing whenever I need a break from my single player story games. Gameplay is fun and can be challenging as you progress and unlock more abilities. A bit pricey but it's definitely great for kids.
Bom jogo, divertido e boa jogabilidade! Jogo ainda esta em early access, só tem 1 planeta disponivel. Mas é super fun de jogar!
Virballs feels like a mashup of Kirby and Ratchet & Clank—colorful, chaotic, and full of charm. The elemental combos are clever, the combat stays fresh, and the world design keeps pulling you in. Definitely worth checking out if you like creative platformers with personality.
This is an Early Access review, as I believe the devs will continue to improve the game. But for now: The first five maps feel too easy and lack engagement due to the low difficulty and absence of real challenges. (That doesn't mean the game isn't fun—it is—but the HP bar hardly ever gets low since enemies rarely hit consistently with their long attacks.) Additionally, there's an issue with orb collection when trying to complete maps 100%. Here are a few suggestions to make the game even more enjoyable: (I know it is hard, but it worth trying to give this idea) Some Virballs are overpowered, like the Earth + Fire charged combo, while others, such as Shock + Earth or Water + Earth, feel underwhelming. This wouldn't be an issue if elemental reactions played a bigger role. For instance, Water Virballs could be immune to rock or fire damage, while Earth and Shock combos could deal 50% extra damage. Making the Virballs tougher overall would also add to the challenge. The grab mechanic is nice but needs reworking. At the moment, you can grab everything without much thought, and it feels somewhat pointless A speedrun timer would be a great addition for players who enjoy racing through levels. It could include both 100% completion runs or objective-based runs for those looking to finish maps quickly. A better hud to select the virballs ammo, I guess 4 virballs instead of 2 would be much better I feel a lot of potential here, and I hope the best for the devs.
It has been a nice suprise this year to play this game. Element mixing mechanic was a particular reason that grabbed my attention. And the game itself is well made. Intereting level design, quick pace, such big variety of element based weapons and amazing graphics. Nevertheless, there are some caveats, meaning the small ammount of bugs and bigger Virballs getting stuck in certain places, making their defeat a cakewalk. Still, if You are interested in action platformer like this, go ahead and play it. You will have a nice time. :)
EDIT: Dev team has easily been one of the most helpful and attentive team ive had the pleasure of being assisted by. They have been very active in resolving my issues and keeping me posted as to when a patch will be available so that i may continue my journey of fun! This game and this team absolutely deserve a thumbs up IMO. I look forward to being able to complete my play through and to see what this game has in stock for the future! Thanks again Devs! So id like to start by saying that though i gave this game a down vote, i absolutely LOVE this game! The only reason i cant recommend the game right now is simply because of a game breaking glitch. So to start there are roughly 6 or 7 planets in the game each with their own unique setting, soundtrack, and enemies/bosses. But in the final mission on planet Vio the game really started bugging out. My weapons had infinite ammo so it would never auto swap back to other weapons when you ran out of ammo. the counter just goes past zero and start counting through the negatives. And i unlocked both poison and fire cleaner in that final mission. It was jarring at first and i was confused how i got them. i continued out the mission and it didnt have issues allowing me to complete the final mission of the planet. NOW, moving onto the next planet, Bolgarta (not completely sure on the name but next planet after Vio) The very first mission seemed to be going smooth, and the ammo glitch didnt seem to be an issue. However i still had one element cleaner i wasnt suppose to have, and i wont say which one due to spoilers, but i know the devs know which at this point due to context clues. This is where the game breaks. I finish the mission objectives, but I am still stuck in the mission... i also realized that the collectibles werent showing up like they did in the planet overview and the only way i could leave was to quit. The mission didnt get completed and ive tried to restart both the game and mission to see if it was just a minor bug. But alas i am stuck at that current spot and cant progress forward. Only other issues i would like to mention are minor bugs but not game breaking bugs. They are, for what i can recall, only boss related. Which is a bummer to deal with considering you just went through the whole level and the only way to fix it is by restarting the level. But at least that fixes it and its small things like the boss head bugging out after a certain stage and you cant beat it, or getting locked out of the arena before the fight starts. Now that ive gotten the issue out of the way and i hope to see the developers be able to work on swiftly, i would love to talk about all the things i truly enjoy about this game! First off When i saw the game i knew it had this nostalgic vibe to me. Granted that nostalgia im talking about are things like Ratchet and Clank or Jak and Daxter like playstation 1 playstation 2 era. Hands down my favorite generation of consoles with the most amazing memories. When i started playing this game there was honestly a piece of that coming back. Though early planets used similar terrain models and designs for its platforming, the later planets started getting more diverse with its platforming and all around map build. It made progression feel more rewarding as worlds got more challenging through both enemies and bosses alike as well as traversing the map. Unexpectedly i found out that there is also a first person mode and quite frankly that just adds another layer of fun! If the devs ever find the ability to add challenge specific levels where you can earn skins and come up with like FPPOV only mission, element only, or maybe even timed challenges, to earn skins or rewards, then you can consider this to start being one of my top played games, guaranteed! There is so much potential for this game and yet it already comes jam packed full of it as is. The game-play and gun-play itself is super fun! Having up to 36 different combinations of elemental mixtures is honestly far more than i expect with again so much more potential in the future for other elemental additions whether made up elements or real. This game honestly lets my imagination run wild and free again and that means a lot as a gamer! The visuals had me enthralled, the soundtrack was good, and i honestly did not want to stop playing the game. Though overall the games not perfect, it was certainly a blast! I hope to be able to finish the game if my bugs can get fixed and will be immediately changing my recommendation to yes when it does. A couple of other notes i think are worth mentioning: 1) I think the games value holds a strong $15 IMO. Thats not to say the games content is worth less but rather i feel gamers have an easier time making the decision on the purchase on that 5 dollar difference. But $20 is certainly a gap from $70 or $80. And i feel i got the same play time so far on this as i have in some of my more expensive games. 2) ColoradORB is hands down the best skin but being from CO i might be a bit biased lol 3) The bagpipe and metal Virball have the best audio when you use them to attack and i just NEED to know where to find the audio if at all possible
