Multiple ways to solve - There are many puzzles in this game that can be solved in a different out-of-the-box way of thinking. Makes for great replayability!

The game captures the spirit of classic 1990s point-and-click adventures:

Cartoonish world and eccentric characters. An alternate-history steampunk version of Central Europe serves as the backdrop for a cast of quirky, memorable personalities.
Absurd black comedy. The game prioritizes surreal humor and witty dialogue over taking its setting seriously.
Classic point-and-click gameplay. Exploration, dialogue, and inventory puzzles form the core experience, with mini-games and action sequences providing occasional variety.
Puzzle-focused progression. Most obstacles are solved through puzzles, though unlike many classic adventures, some can be completed in multiple wayss (such as through different dialogue choices or optional puzzles).
That said, the game may not be for everyone:

Classic 'moon logic'. As with many old-school adventure games, puzzle solutions can be unintuitive, favoring comedic payoff over realistic reasoning.
Very niche political satire. Many jokes assume some knowledge of Central European history and the Austro-Hungarian Empire, though history enthusiasts are likely to appreciate them.
Noticeably low-budget production. Simple animations, static environments, limited voice acting, and reused assets give the game a modest presentation.
Point-and-click adventure games, despite being more dependent on their stories than action titles, must function with a greater inherent distance between player and the game world then an experience where your actual navigation through an adventure is an active task via gameplay. If the narrative is good, and Viktor is a delight, there are two commandments: can you die (If I wanted punishment or trial and error I'd play a rougelike) and am I going to be forced combine two objects in a manner that would make Salvadore Dali grunt audibly? There are indeed a few inventory puzzles in Viktor that had me shamelessly reaching for a guide, but that was because the surrealist nature of the plot causes some forgivable confusion about object properties and interaction and because the story was so charming I was eager to forge ahead. A good deal of the humor here is clearly in-jokes about eastern European politics but the gags land for the most part, the characters are goofy and likable and the experience as a whole is snappy and neither too short nor too long. You control Viktor, a lovable prole who knows (rightfully) that he can be a better emperor than the current warmonger due to a much less focused form of personal ambition. The cartoony steampunk setting and cute characters combine with surreal setpieces and varied puzzles and gameplay that had me wanting more after the title concluded. Fun minigames and a great classical/ragtime soundtrack really punch up the experience. The game is short so waiting for a sale is in order but I would be remiss if I didn't recommend this little gem wholeheartedly.
Viktor is a unique adventure game, incorporating a number of mini-games (many of which can be skipped if you find other solutions), lots of humour and a memorable main character. Pretty much everything about this game is out of the ordinary - the style and graphics are very oddball. It all comes together for an enjoyable adventure if you're looking for something light-hearted and, let's face it, a little bit mad. :-) I reviewed the game more fully on my blog: http://www.indiegamenews.com/2017/03/review-viktor-steampunk-adventure.html Disclaimer: I received a review copy of the game for free. The review represents my honest thoughts on the game.
