I have really enjoyed this game. It is a fun spin on the table top game and of course WW2 in the Pacific. As a history nerd I can appreciate this game for what it is. I've been slightly addicted to this game and play an hour or two when I can.
This game is great fun if you like fleet management and blowing up ships with overwhelming firepower. There is still some bugs, sometimes the AI will start acting crazy, or you will see ships disappear from existence, but I didn't found real game breaking issues for now, most of the time relaunching the game fix it, sometime you have to play a bit with the fleet merger or squadron control tu resolve the issue. For what I understand the devs fixed most of the worst issues overtime. If you can take some time to understand why things don't work the way you expected (and learn to work around the rough patches) you get a real solid WW2 fleet-fighting game. Also there's an option to create your own "modding files" in the main menu. You can switch up most game variable, ship and airplane stats, campaign starting ports, ressources production, shell performance, etc ... you get the gist. So if you find some balancing issues that make the experience worse for you can always tweak things to your taste. TlDR : It's a strong strategy game with buggs, so maybe wait for sales to get it ? Anyway I still recommend it warmly.
Oh Mann!
I mean, it's alright.
Cool concept, but its complete and utter garbage. It's all smoke and mirrors. Just a horrible game once you learn more and experience mid to late campaign. The devs either hate gamers, or are too lazy to actually make the game they claim it to be. Its all RNG crap that doesn't work well. It will take a few hours to realize how bad it is, so I recommend not falling into that trap and just avoiding the game entirely.
I love the realism of this game for logistics and having control of those fleets having to build the ships along with maintaining warships and carriers. i wish this game got a little more addition for updates on fixes for the game it is clunky but there's ways around that. Overall this game has lots of potential its fun and challenging all in real time not turn based.
I think this game is really cool. If you are a history buff, you like RTS games, you like naval and carrier warfare, this is the game for you. Not sure why there is so many thumbs down, I don't think this game deserves it. The graphics are good, game play is good, not many buggy things as far as I can see. I didn't play the original Victory at Sea, but based on what I saw in the trailers, this game is better. The combat and RTS battle space has more depth, better graphics and better mechanics than the first game. Again, if you are interested in WWII history, RTS games and good game play, this is for you. Great game in my opinion, very entertaining.
its ok. imo just ok tho. a few bugs here and there but completely playable. the operations part is good, the tactical combat is eh.. planes zip around like swarms of flies. and when ships sink or uboats submerge they tend to go airborne lol but only visually. technically to the ai and game theyre under water. graphics are ok. i will say it covers a lot of history or alt history pending ur play style. personally ive been playing war on the sea instead but i come back from time to time. worth a buy but not at full price. seems their atlantic game looks better but no idea how it plays unless it hits a heavy sale 6-7/10
