Sad to have to give this game a negative review. The concept of a game where towns have independent economies and money is made on taxing trade between them is interesting, and there's a lot to love about the game in terms of how well it is designed. The unfortunate problem for me though is that the logistical puzzle it presents is fundamentally broken. You are attempting to build and balance your towns so that they trade enough to make money but their traders aren't overloaded. The Trader AI however has two crucial flaws - firstly, Traders will go off to buy only one or two resources regardless of greater demand/supply issues. It's incredibly common to see city with 10 Traders have 5 or so Traders each on separate journeys to buy 1 or 2 Potatoes each. Secondly, Traders will always go to the town with the lowest price, and have no concern for the distance. This means there's no option to build towns strategically to help with logistic demand - you can build a potato farm in a town two tiles away from a town that is sending all of its Traders half way across the map to get potatoes, and it won't change its behaviour. This problem is just about manageable in the early-mid game where towns can be relatively self sufficient, but once you start getting into the more complex demands, it just becomes impossible,
it might be short but i am enjoying it as much as i can <3
So, I just finished the achievements for the game after however many hours it says I've got. 87 hours on record, with the majority of it spread out over 2 weeks, and most of that time itself just having the game run while afk because some supplies take a lot of time for transporters to deliver. My personal feedback is that the game is overall enjoyable and fun for people who like city building and city management. Overall being the keyword. Pros: The game has a smooth graphical flow, the UI is simple enough for the grand majority of things, the story of the campaign is straight to the point in terms of teaching you during the first few scenarios, and it can feel satisfying to get a fully functioning map full of stuff being traded from city to city. Cons (or just my personal gripes that I think they could adjust to make it feel/look/play better): 1. The biggest pain is the inability to control or adjust the market prices. I think there's some vague market fluctuation you can control by having 1 specific town for each specific set of items, which triggers the supply and demand pricing, but at times the pricing makes no sense despite the sheer volume of items available in the whole region. I think it'd be useful to be able to go into a specific town's UI and adjust the prices manually, or leave it automatic via some sort've secondary menu. 2. This review comes right after the new mountains/water tile "reclaiming" option has become available. I LOVE that they added this in, but I think it's too expensive. Also, you can't build bridges of land or flatten a path through mountains, the tiles NEED to be against the town's main border, and you can only do this 1 tile at a time per city. I'd highly recommend lowering the material cost by at minimum 50% of the update's release patch rate and allowing this to be done via the castle's units, rather than a town's (if possible). Meaning, it's currently restricted to towns that have the resources, and to that town's adjacent tiles. Open up the map a bit for play. 3. There is definitely an issue with the gameplay if most of my time is just afking. So, my suggestion is to add an even faster time speed if it won't conflict with the game's memory or processing. If not that, then adjust the speed that "jobs" can produce what they produce. I only play the game on x3 speed because I need the wood for the carpenter's to cut wood so that I can upgrade buildings so that I can have more peasants and workers and such so that I can build the next stuff and do the next research. It takes a long time, and that part can be cleaned up. But, again, OVERALL I enjoy the game. I do also think the "needs" of the citizens is too high, and it actually bottlenecks a lot of the gameplay. Otherwise, adjust some stuff and far more players will come to check out the game!
My favourite strategy game of 2026 (found in 2026 lol)
It's cute and has lovely music, but honestly, it's a little boring. Always more of balancing production, researching the next thing, making more stuff. Add to that the fact that some things aren't explained very well, and it's just not a completely satisfying experience. I wouldn't refund it, because I feel like they put a lot of work in and it has promise, but it's just kinda meh atm.
Super fun economy builder.
fun game and easy to grasp.
