Vertigo is DEFINITELY up there with best VR games of all time. The gameplay and story feel very similar to Half-Life with a hint of Portal! The bosses are super fun, gunplay is great and the difficulty is the perfect balance. The game is W E I R D at points, like, funny weird. But also kinda gross weird? It's great. Highly recommend!
A decently ambitious VR campaign. Vertigo and its sequel are the type of VR games I want: an immersive adventure with decent interactions that's fun. Overall, it was a decent thrill and I found exploring and fighting enemies decently fun. The guns feel pretty good and I found pulling the fire select on the SMG pretty fun; the shooting feels good as well. I do think the game kind of ends a little abruptly; I didn't really expect the game to end where it did and it felt there should've been more build up
First of all - for some reason this games makes me feel really sick. I have over 1000 hours on other games and this is one of very few games doing that to me. Might be the graphic. This is subjective so its not really complain. But for game itself - unfortunately, its boring. You have portal gun which works only when it feels like it.. you cannot shoot through prison bars, you cannot use some random flat surfaces while others work no problem and there is no indication which is which. Your character moves sluggishly like on ice and combat is just endlessly shooting spongy enemies. To be fair, boss design and some creatures look good but thats simply not enough to keep you entertained. Iam aware this game is fairly old and I will give second game try but this just feels as old as it is. And you have many better alternatives to choose from. (portal 2 VR mod "wink wink")
Fun gunplay, beautiful, thalassophobia, scary, best music in the world, a wolf in vr played this.
Can't get past the second boss because the game is buggy. The cannon doesn't go off. It simply doesn't shoot even if you align it correctly. This bug was submitted in the forum, which the developer responded to. It was never fixed. Nice, I wasted my money and can't play the game.
Amazing game. Loved every minute of it. Especially loved the pacing at the end too. Just buy it .
Vertigo Remastered is an outstanding demonstration of how a classic virtual reality title can be rebuilt to meet modern standards while preserving the qualities that made it memorable in the first place. Developed by Zach Tsiakalis-Brown, George Eracleous, and Errol Bucy, and published by Zulubo Productions, the game is far more than a graphical update. It reconstructs the original adventure with improved mechanics, expanded content, redesigned environments, and refined gameplay systems that make it feel like a completely fresh experience. The result is a polished VR adventure that successfully blends action, exploration, storytelling, and humor into one cohesive package. The story begins inside the enormous Planck Interdimensional Quantum Reactor, where an unexpected catastrophe leaves the protagonist trapped within a sprawling research complex filled with strange creatures, malfunctioning technology, and dangerous scientific experiments. Rather than presenting a grim survival tale, the narrative embraces a lighter tone filled with witty dialogue, eccentric personalities, and moments of genuine mystery. The balance between comedy and suspense keeps the campaign engaging, while environmental storytelling gradually reveals what happened to the facility and why reality itself appears to be falling apart. This approach allows the world to feel alive without relying on lengthy cutscenes or excessive exposition. Gameplay is where Vertigo Remastered truly excels. Every interaction is designed around immersive VR mechanics that encourage players to physically engage with the environment. Weapons feel distinct thanks to realistic handling, manual reloading, and satisfying feedback during firefights. The game also features a wide selection of firearms and equipment that become available as players progress, providing fresh combat opportunities throughout the adventure. Beyond shooting, players interact with machinery, solve environmental puzzles, manipulate objects, and uncover hidden areas, creating a satisfying balance between action and exploration. The inclusion of both smooth locomotion and teleportation options also ensures that players with different comfort preferences can enjoy the experience without sacrificing immersion. Enemy variety contributes significantly to the game's strong pacing. Encounters feature robotic security forces, alien organisms, towering mechanical threats, and other imaginative opponents that require different tactics rather than repetitive run-and-gun strategies. Combat arenas frequently incorporate environmental hazards and creative layouts, encouraging movement and experimentation instead of simply relying on raw firepower. The progression system further rewards exploration by unlocking useful upgrades that expand combat possibilities and give players a stronger sense of growth as the story unfolds. The environments remain consistently impressive throughout the campaign. Laboratories, industrial complexes, experimental testing chambers, underground facilities, and surreal dimensional landscapes each possess their own visual identity and gameplay focus. Every new area introduces fresh mechanics or memorable encounters, preventing the adventure from becoming repetitive despite its substantial length. Hidden collectibles, optional paths, and rewarding exploration encourage players to look beyond the main objectives, adding replay value while making the facility feel like a believable scientific installation rather than a collection of disconnected levels. Visually, Vertigo Remastered favors a colorful and stylized presentation instead of photorealism, a decision that works remarkably well in virtual reality. The clean art direction helps maintain visual clarity during fast-paced encounters while allowing the imaginative creature designs and futuristic technology to stand out. Strong lighting effects, detailed environmental assets, expressive character animations, and polished visual effects all contribute to an immersive atmosphere. Audio is equally well crafted, featuring convincing weapon sounds, ambient environmental effects, memorable voice performances, and a soundtrack that shifts naturally between quiet exploration and intense combat sequences. One of the game's biggest accomplishments is its overall level of polish. Numerous quality-of-life improvements, accessibility options, multiple difficulty settings, Steam achievements, cloud saves, and additional features modernize the experience while respecting the strengths of the original release. Although occasional physics quirks can occur, as is common in many VR titles, they are minor compared to the overall stability and responsiveness of the gameplay. The developers clearly invested significant effort into refining every system rather than relying solely on nostalgia. Vertigo Remastered stands as one of the strongest narrative-driven VR shooters available, offering a carefully crafted blend of immersive mechanics, creative world-building, entertaining storytelling, and consistently engaging gameplay. Its successful combination of exploration, combat, puzzle-solving, and memorable characters ensures that every chapter introduces something new without losing momentum. Whether experienced as a first introduction or as a return to the original adventure, the remastered edition delivers a complete and highly polished VR experience that showcases the strengths of the medium. I don`t know what i just played but pretty cool! it reminds me of boneworks/lab, it may be short but really impresive i didn`t had to much faith on this game, some areas caught me off guard by how good it looked. Very refreshing game. ~9/10
I hate to leave a bad review of this game, I played Vertigo 2 before this and I probably wouldn't have played V2 if I played this first. Don't get me wrong the story is good but there were many places were I got stuck and didn't know what to do. It was a letdown in a lot of cases. However, you will probably have different results than me. Probably because I keep proving myself to be a generalized idiot. EDIT: This game has actually really grown on me this past few weeks! I do recommend it!
