About

Verdantis is a puzzle-adventure game, set in a ruined, overgrown research facility. Once a cutting-edge complex for alternative energy experiments. Today vines, and rust reclaim the laboratories, and reactors.
You play as R-0B, a small quadruped assistant robot. Your task: restore power across the entire complex, zone by zone, puzzle by puzzle. The story unfolds through exploration, researchers' journal entries, and traces of disaster in the environment.

Block pushing – push blocks and plan your movement through tight, logical spaces
Switches and activators – open doors, route power, and trigger devices, no time pressure
Electric charges – take on a positive or negative charge and manipulate plants
Floating plants – cross flooded labs where vegetation responds to energy
Light reflection – guide beams through light-reflecting plants to trigger reactions in other plants and create platforms
And more
The world is split into eight connected zones: from industrial ruins to dense vegetation at the heart of the facility. You can explore the facility in any order.
The game offers about 2 hours of play time. Progress saves automatically.

Verdantis stands out with a distinctive look: cel-shading with bold outlines, comic-book readability, and post-apocalyptic technology overtaken by nature. Rusted machines, dense overgrowth, and gradually returning light create the mood of an abandoned lab slowly coming back to life.
For players who want a calm adventure built on logic and exploration with a readable world, consistent puzzles, and a strong, original visual identity.
Experience life as a service minded robot, dutifully solving puzzles in a verdant clandestine genetics facility to restart a friendly neighbourhood AI.
I have a weak spot for games evoking the biology-side of aesthetics, and this game featured a distinct “chloropunk” setting on its steam page that instantly got me hooked. The storyline is a bit of an odd combination of cold-war era communists establishing a genetics laboratory that somehow ended up derelict. You wake up amidst the ruins as a tiny helper-droid. On your quest for answers you have to solve puzzles that allow you to traverse the various sections of the dilapidated facility in search for a powersource for your AI friend. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3778811428 This is a great example of a diamond in the rough. The gameplay is quite rudimentary where you are wandering about in an isometric view solving themed puzzles in order to progress further into the game. The puzzles range from blockpushing, infernal magnetism and lasers and all have their distinct solutions that range from chill to mind boggling. Sometimes I had a feeling I was on the right track only to get stuck on a single misplaced pylon that took me some logical deduction to get right. All in all the puzzles felt fair and never impossible, and that is a fine balance to get right. The chloropunk setting is turned out to be a mix of ancient factories overgrown by plants, wines and flowers. The combination of robots and plants worked well for WALL-E and works just as well here, and I love the touch that you are collecting genetically engineered potatoes as a powersource! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3778811733 The game took me only 2 hours to 100%, but it was hours well spent! Now the pricing of short games continues to be a dilemma, not only for the publisher, but for me as a reviewer. Do I feel it could be worth the asking price? Absolutely, and if one can support indie developers on their journey, all the better! Conclusion: This is a short but sweet game with well constructed puzzles. A solid recommendation, get it at a sale or support a promising dev in their future enterprises!
