Pretty decent puzzle game. Mechanics are very simple; just move a robot with the arrow keys, and help it push a crate to the opening in the floor. Took me about an hour-and-a-half to get through all 60 levels. The great part is, there's still playability afterwards, being able to make your own puzzles and uploading for the world to share! It could benefit from having a simple tutorial, as well as the ability to change the background color, but still pretty good nonetheless. Native Linux support! A quick little Sokoban-esque (box moving) game. The main campaign takes less than two hours to complete. I struggled with a few puzzles, but most of them are straightforward. The best part is the level editor, which is available at the start. I can see puzzle fans creating much more complex levels than originally designed. So theoretically the game has infinite replayability. If you want to design Sokoban-esque puzzles and/or want a cheap intro puzzle game, give Roboggled a shot.
Clever games curator review: 7/10. Sokoban with a bunch of extras, like ice levels, lasers, and simultaneously moving pushers. While there’s nothing truly novel, it’s a good mix and new mechanics are introduced at just the right rate to keep it fresh all the way to its relatively short conclusion (60 levels). Difficulty: medium; solutions are never completely obvious unless they’re meant to teach, of which there are a decent number. But they never rise to brain-hurting or requiring random brute force experimentation. I only ran into one puzzle that was so hard that I had to quit and come back, and that had to do with a mechanic that was unclear; once I knew what I needed to do it was easy enough. It has good QoL, with full undo and good gamepad control. Presentation is pretty bland, both in terms of graphics and audio, but it certainly doesn’t look bad, and in no way held back my enjoyment. There is one unfortunate bug on my computer: when I start the game the screen fades to white once you get past the main menu. The game would be unplayable in this state except that it turns out you can fix it by alt tabbing away from the program and then alt tabbing back, and this is only necessary once per run. The dev was understandably interested in trying to fix this but has not been able to. I’m not going to dock it any points for this because although annoying it’s so easy to work around.
