not being able to have 2 instances open at the same time is insane... and no this is not a "steam limitation" like the lazy devs want you to believe, they just don't care enough to fix this, insane how you have to pirate the software you paid for to be able to use 2 at the same time

уж лучше бы купил премьер чем вегас... две гифки загрузить не может, вылетает когда хочет, грузит долго,видео и звук видео глючит, бывает просто при добавлении видео, вегас вылетает, сложный интерфейс, кошмар для новичка, всё самому настраивать.. фу короче, не советую

And that’s not even counting the random crashes during video editing… Honestly, I regret upgrading from Vegas 13 to Vegas 21. I never had any issues with version 13. But if I ever wanted to produce Full HD videos, I didn’t really have a choice but to upgrade. When are we finally going to get a version of Vegas that actually works properly? C’est plutôt un crash du genre : le logiciel continue de fonctionner très lentement, mais il ne terminera jamais le travail demandé. Il te donne une fausse lueur d’espoir que tu ne perdras pas tout le temps passé à convertir la vidéo. Résultat : après une nuit entière, il était toujours à 97 %. Sans compter le fait qu’il plante aussi de façon aléatoire durant le montage vidéo… Bref, je regrette d’être passé de Vegas 13 à Vegas 21. Je n’ai jamais eu de problème avec la version 13. Cependant, si je voulais un jour pouvoir faire des vidéos en Full HD, je n’avais pas vraiment le choix d’upgrader. À quand un Vegas qui fonctionne réellement ? Peu importe la version, aucune ne réussit à obtenir un avis positif auprès de la communauté depuis plusieurs années.

You need to use old NVIDIA driver (581.80 works, not sure about newer ones, 610.47 doesn't) to use NVENC now, or render slower using CPU. Wouldn't be surprised if it's NVIDIAs fault but MAGIX should fix that, but last update was in May 2024 so they propably won't do it AI tools makes render 40x slower and does worse job than you would do manually Doesn't crash as often as 16.0 did, but still does it's weird VEGAS things like audio desync for no reason or not recording audio through mic Technically it is posiible to have 2 or more instances open but via workarounds (Edit in VEGAS on .veg file) I don't think you can also upgrade steam version to new Vegas 2026 so you'll need to pay full price if you want to upgrade it

False advertising – the Steam version doesn’t support AI features or VEGAS Hub, even though it’s written everywhere that it does

DO NOT BUY Steam versions of Vegas Pro were developed by MAGIX- Vegas is now owned by BorisFX as of a few months ago. Various features of Pro 21 are depreciated, such as Nvidia NVENC GPU-accelerated rendering (unless you want to rollback 6 months-worth of GPU drivers). Vegas Pro 21 has not been updated since 2024, and with new ownership, it does not seem that there are any fixes coming to this software. Even the newest Steam version of Vegas Pro, 23, was developed late last year, a few months before the sale to BorisFX. Looking at the update history to that software on Steam, there have been NONE. If you like Vegas, have been using Vegas, etc, and are looking for an updated version, I HIGHLY recommend ignoring Steam versions for the time being (at the very least until BorisFX, the current developers implement their own versions- which, to their credit, I have seen them mention interest in doing). Instead, I would point you to the non-Steam, current version, which has a free-trial (though notably some plugins/features are not available in the perpetual license version, only in the subscription version). Or just use Davinci Resolve like I'm likely about to swap to- with the uncertainty surrounding future updates (and the fact that Resolve is free), it seems like a more stable option.
