Vaudeville

Developers left it in a broken state and have not been back to update this garbage. Steam refuses to give a refund due to the past amount of days of owning it but I figured I'd let them fix it since it looked promising but the developers have abandoned this trash. As of writing this it's still in early access and I believe it's been over a year with no updates, they took the money and ran! Steam is just as much to blame as them since they won't take this off the store front to stop others from wasting money and won't refund it. Bad dev's is all I got to say and to save your money.

Unfortunately, this game was extremely frustrating and disappointing. The AI behavior is completely inconsistent and often breaks the game. Characters say random or incorrect things, some NPCs don’t respond at all, and others literally confess to crimes they did not commit. At one point, three different characters confessed to the same murder — and none of them were actually guilty. In several conversations, the AI failed entirely. Instead of dialogue, the game displayed lines like “Dada speaks loud and clear” instead of actual responses, making it impossible to progress normally. Because of these issues, I was unable to advance through the investigation properly. I had to roleplay and “speak for” other NPCs through Chief Gretzky just to finish the game, which completely broke immersion. The experience felt unfinished, unreliable, and more frustrating than fun. In its current state, the game is highly inconsistent and not really playable as intended.

The problem with this game is the problem with all AI. The characters don't seem to know what's true and what's not. Once you talk to them, their answers change, but not in an intelligent way like they're trying to fool you, more like *they're* starting to believe *you*. Good concept but needs work.

Since the last update I can't even get the game to start, where as it used to work quite well, if a little slow. Update: Still doesn't work.

The game is really promising and fun when you first begin. But then you slowly start to realize that most of the AI characters just speak about intangible philosophical things when you ask real questions and it feels as if every NPC is deliberately trying to stall you or dodging the questions. I believe this game can turn into a real gem, it just needs some adjustments so the story can progress as it should and it is playable. The current state of the game is just not it.

I have watched so many videos and want to love the game. But the game doesn't even work, I have to type the same thing multiple times and MIGHT get a reply a minute or so later, the game isn't playable right now, I'll gladly change my review if its fixed.

Don't do it

The newest update seems to have broken the game. Earlier versions were better which is very sad. The AI takes forever to respond now and most the time what they're saying offers 0 help and they seem to just talk in circles now.
