Drawbacks: - too long transitions effects - no option to skip the transitions - fast mode of combat is way too slow Pro: everything we can expect of a TRPG published after FFT. Vanaris Tactivs is a legit TRPG: it's solid and pretty looking enough, the story is decent writing with nice narative tension. But the best TRPG games with endless replay value that i've played on steam are Symphony of War, Wintermoor Tactics Club, Fell Seal, C.A.R.D.S RPG, or Lost in Fantasyland. There are already many other 'fine, but lesser' TRPGs on Steam. And, while playing this game, Vanaris Tactics Prologue, I haven't experienced anything that's original or more pleasant than my references games, some of which have almost endless erplay value, I have no reason to want to buy the full version. But it will depend of whether they will impove the negative point I mentioned, or add original gameplay elements. Maybe character recruitment in combat, or, crafting, or relationship interaction in the gameplay, etc. Vanaris would have ot add something very original to convince me to buy its full version and let us know in the description or in the videos. Something that I haven't found in the Prologue. So, I recommand This demo is ok because it's free. But I don't know how much the full game will cost, or if it's going to the be same thing or something more nteresting.

NOTE: This review is very negative, but I edited my review to give game a thumbs-up anyway, because it does what it was built to do. They sure did a good job of cloning Final Fantasy Tactics, right down to the grueling, slow tedium of battle... 21 minutes in and I wasn't allowed to save the game. Is it disabled in this demo? The menu option for it was there, but greyed out. The plot of the game from what I saw is pretty URRGHH, and is as follows: "SLAVERY BAD! COLONIZATION BAD! RELIGIOUS INTOLERANCE BAD! Help the red-skinned people defeat the Europea- er, pale-skinned people! Yeah, OK. The game gives me zero reason to care about the plight of these people and their culture. Let them get absorbed by whatever Empire conquered them for all I care. If you're obsessed with FFT you'd probably enjoy this though, even though it lacks the depth of having a job system. I won't be grabbing the full game. Appreciate the demo though, as it allows me to avoid having to buy and refund the full game.
Like other reviewers, I must say that visually the game is very appealing. I also find the premise of the story, and some of the details of the narrative referred to in the prologue, interesting. However, the writing is unfortunately very poor, and this did take away from the experience for me, since the story makes up a significant part of this prologue. Mechanics-wise, I should preface this by saying that I am not familiar with the games referred to by other reviewers as being similar mechanically to Vanaris Tactics, such as Final Fantasy Tactics or Tactics Ogre. I cannot therefore comment on how Vanaris compares to those games mechanically. From this perspective, I found the combat boring and lacking in depth - the game teaches you that you do more damage when attacking from the side or behind, and my turns in combat revolved almost exclusively around moving my characters to the side of an enemy and hitting them; repeat until there are no more enemies. I did not find this interesting or enjoyable, and it felt like a waste of time. I also share the criticisms levelled against the UI by other reviewers - the interface does not seem to be designed for PC, and can do things such as cover enemies when you are trying to target them, which is annoying. I do like how it shows step by step what the enemy is doing on their turn though - I thought that was a nice touch and assisted with reading what was going on. Overall, the Prologue decisively put me off from playing the main game, chiefly because I did not find the combat engaging, and because the poor writing would prevent me from enjoying the story. I will say, however, that the Prologue takes less than an hour to complete, so, if you are still undecided about it after reading this and other reviews, there are worse things you could do than giving it a go.
A z plusów to obiecująca fabuła, walki z fanatykami religijnymi podobnymi do Inkwizytorów i misjonarzy z XV-XVIII wieku.
a bueno gracias
Este sí es un buen FFT para PC
剧情普普通通,战斗没啥新意,操作极其难受,界面丧心病狂,总体来讲就是没有突出优点但有恶劣缺点
- art style is good - i like this type of gameplay looking forward for the full version game.
