About

Vampire Hunter: Nightrise is a story about a hunter confronting pride, doubt, and the limits of his own belief.
Faith is not narrative flavor — it is a core gameplay system. It functions as a finite, dynamic resource that influences combat, exploration, and survival. As conviction weakens, the castle’s influence grows stronger. You'll have to manage faith as carefully as ammunition.

The vampire’s castle looms on the horizon — a place where many hunters have entered... and none have returned. You step inside, armed and confident… but the gates slam shut behind you.
The castle is no ordinary fortress. Its halls shift and loop into each other, riddled with traps and secret passageways designed to keep intruders wandering until the vampire awakens — and when he does, you’re finished.
Your only chance is to master the labyrinth itself. Fight off the castle’s twisted minions in tense FPS combat, uncover the hidden mechanics of its passageways, and carve a path to the vampire’s chamber before Nightrise.

Werewolves. Skeletons. And things with names best left unspoken. The castle crawls with the Vampire’s minions — and you only brought so many stakes.
Smash wooden furniture to craft more ammunition.
Line up your shots with the stake launcher to pierce multiple enemies — or pin them to walls.
Fire through flame to ignite your stakes and burn your foes alive.

The castle was built as a maze — a sanctuary for its master, and a tomb for intruders. Fireplaces rotate, bookcases shift, portraits conceal hidden corridors, and staircases reshape themselves. Every passage leads deeper into its design, every door a new deception.
You’re not the first to try. The corpses of failed hunters litter the halls, their notes whispering secrets about passageways, traps, and things better left forgotten. Can you learn from their mistakes — and survive long enough to face what sleeps beneath?

The sun is setting. Every corridor you clear brings you closer to the heart of the nightmare. When Nightrise comes, it will all be over — One way or another.

I really enjoyed this. Since Catholicism is a big part of my life I really enjoyed all the religious themes, and how the notes will really try to shake your faith. Great work devs!
Very nicely done indie game that really nails the Castlevania atmosphere in an FPS. Music was great. Simple but fun gameplay mechanics and a surprisingly good story with a lot of lore to collect. Fun but not obtuse puzzles/secrets that don't slow down the gameplay loop and are generally fun to do. Depending on how much you want to take it slow and enjoy the aesthetics etc you can roll through it in around 2 hours. I took my time and enjoyed and it took me 5. Ran great and no crashes. Great for a rainy day if you are into gothic horror and want to kill a couple hours.
My fist playthrough took a little longer than two hours and that was with (almost) finding everything. There are achievements for different endings so there is replay value. Not very challenging game, though one enemy I thought was inspired (the armored werewolf). Couldn't find a secret in one of the Family Quarters area but it seemed once of the Spirit Traps was bugged - I was able to break it multiple times as long as I reloaded the area (via fast travel) and even have 7/5 Spirit Traps for the location. Overall very solid for the asking price.
Such a great little game. Well worth the money. I'd love to see more if there were DLC. The game has a really solid foundation, and I'd love to see it expanded upon. More weapons and combat variety. Higher stakes (pun intended). The puzzles, atmosphere, and enemy/boss concepts were all excellent, but the encounters themselves could be much more challenging. Combat could also be expanded with more dynamic encounters. Most fights are fairly straightforward. Repopulating previously explored areas with enemies would make backtracking feel more engaging. Finally, the game could benefit from a few well-placed jump scares or enemy ambushes
the game i wanted but did know i needed. A fun experience. would have loved to see more done with main villain. And some other classic monsters show up in a dlc, flesh golem boss, perhaps a wondering monster or the big bad popping up from the shadows to compel you to come closer or summon a random group of zombies minions or wolves to attack you. maybe a bride or three that are secret bosses. alpha werewolf in a garden section or somewhere, a treasury with a mummy and some exotic horrors, an alchemy lab with a flesh golem etc. I already love it but i don't mind seeing it expand here and there with more secrets or other challenges and sub bosses. no pressure though. Awesome Job!
Si comme moi vous avez aimé Nosferatu Wrath of Malachi vous aimerez ce Nightrise.
this game is dope
I received and early build of the game to try out. First playthrough took several hours over the course of 2-3 days. The 2nd playthrough took 30 minutes. That is not a negative point for the game. Once you figure out the various puzzles and secrets, it is super fun to speed-run through and get all the achievements. Very engaging writing that goes over themes of religion and testing faith. An interesting mechanic is that the more power-ups you unlock, the less maximum ammunition you have. I really enjoy the combination of crossbow and closequarters combat. Not a very difficult game, but I loved the atmosphere and set pieces.
A one-sitting game, but the quality is incredible for such a bare-bones team. Good performance, no glitches, plenty of secrets and intrigue. Also is nothing like Tunic.
