Valor & Victory

I've only played a few scenarios so far but I like it, it's fun to play and I think it can serve as a good introduction to how tabletop hex-and-counter games work (i.e. as a series of phases). I've played other similar games on Steam like Arete and Mare Nostrum and they got me excited to play the tabletop equivalents. I *would* say this game is probably going to be more (mostly?) of interest to people who are specifically looking for that tabletop-style way of doing things, so if you're a casual gamer who has never played a wargame before, while you could definitely start with this, you might prefer something more-accessible like Company of Heroes instead. I am very interested in exploring what hex-and-counter tabletop wargames have to offer, so a game like this is a great way for me to get more comfortable with how they do things.

The digital version, however, may not fully meet expectations. Valor & Victory is a tactical game where players control leaders, squads, teams, AT guns, and vehicles from the US, UK, and Germany, fighting on geomorphic hexagonal boards representing Northern France. Each nation has unique squad types, such as US infantry, Rangers, and Airborne, with varying profiles. Squads and teams can be equipped with heavy weapons and explosives, further specializing units. The game's graphics effectively evoke the board game feel, with detailed units and informative displays. The music is a fitting World War II soundtrack, while the sound effects, including dice rolls and cannon fire, are well-executed. Only real knock I have with it is the instructions are not the best the tutorials not the best and keeps you kind of have to dive deep in order to learn how to play it but short of that the game is really good. Overall, Valor & Victory is a solid game for fans of board games and tactical simulations, offering a range of DLC campaigns and a recommended experience for those interested in the genre. 7.5/10

优点： 剧本范围广，从太平洋到欧洲都有覆盖； 电子端，实体端都有，玩着方便； 元素挺多的，直射火炮，间射火炮，坦克车都有。 缺点： 骰子对玩家不公平，挺影响体验的； 国旗，军旗，算子立绘，中文翻译不想做可以不做，直接打个英文缩写就行，不知道游戏里面的那些是什么东西，处在现实和荒谬的叠加态； 游戏机制有点问题，感觉还挺鼓励站桩对射的，配合上离谱的骰子，就可以轻松毁掉一两个小时的游戏体验。

Interesting, simple to learn and play. But: To dependent on luck. Dices are cursed.

Similar to, but simpler than, SL. Very enjoyable.

I like ASL so this is not bad for a simple game
