Nunca olvides tu escudo.
It very addictive and all come together so well. Sometime you can just relax. But I wish there more quality of life and more inventory slot for amour and stuff.
I bounced off of Valheim hard. It has countless sticking points for me, most being related to its glacial pace of play. The combat AI and enemy attention systems are mind-numbing at best, incentivizing particularly slow gameplay as escaping their aggro can be close to impossible (particularly with heavy armour, which seems to be in dire need of a buff). Valheim compliments this with a very grindy system for gear advancement, forcing you to backtrack to get resources from earlier areas that took forever to harvest the first time. Dying is strongly discouraged in terms of both character stats and loot, to the point where a difficult to get to death can cost you hour(s) of time. At a certain point, I just couldn't justify the slog. The building system is fine, but has inconveniences of its own. As someone who loved making fairly big builds in games like Minecraft or Terraria, I could not for the life of me sink my teeth into the Valheim building system without being frustrated by the occasional log or wall that absolutely refused to sit right. While I've seen plenty of beautiful Valheim builds, it felt like the building system was trying to hold me back rather than help me make something nice. By no means am I trying to attack the game. I'm sure this game is perfect for many, many people, but I can say with absolute confidence that I am not among them. I struggle to think of more than a handful of games which I have ever meshed with less. If slow survival craft is your absolute jam rather than a genre you dabble with, however, you'll probably like Valheim a whole lot more than me.
Bottom Line Up Front: While I'm sure it's not the Developer's intention, Valheim feels like it's designed to waste your time. From the very beginning, every craft, every action, ever objective seems purpose built to take as long as possible and be as cumbersome as it can. One positive is the ability to adjust drop rates, but I would expect a game that has been in development since 2021 to have figured out healthy drops for progression right now, when they're at the cusp of a 1.0 release. The only other saving grace is the price, which is much easier to accept given the game will just barely inconvenience you enough until you're outside the refund window, and then ask you to put an entire species of boars to the torch just to make a single tanning rack. If you like working for free, or paying someone to do work for them Valheim is for you.
