Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.22/day in the week to Aug 4 → 1/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
In Uplink, play as a freelance hacker taking on high-stakes contracts. Hack into secure systems, steal data, sabotage rivals, and manipulate evidence. Choose to support factions or go rogue, upgrading your tools and skills with each mission. As you navigate this world of cyber espionage, your choices have lasting consequences, influencing the direction of the story and your place within it.
As a freelance hacker, you'll infiltrate high-security systems, steal corporate data, sabotage rivals, and frame others for cybercrimes. Success hinges on mastering tools like password crackers and log modifiers while evading detection by bouncing connections and erasing tracks.

In Uplink, progression and upgrades drive your rise from rookie hacker to cyber-espionage expert. Earn credits by completing contracts, then invest in faster CPUs, advanced software, and powerful tools to take on tougher missions. As your skills grow, so do the stakes, creating a thrilling loop of challenge and reward that keeps the gameplay endlessly engaging.
Your choices shape the story and the world around you. You can align with rival corporations, support one side, or remain neutral, each path influencing your missions and alliances. Alternatively, you can focus entirely on freelance hacking, building your reputation and wealth. Your decisions lead to different outcomes, making every playthrough unique and ensuring a dynamic, replayable experience.

Reviews
This game was way beyond it's time. It still dwarfs other games of similar genre. Just shows that simplistic, feature rich, gameplay deth is what makes this game great. Doesn't need fancy graphics to be good. That is what majority of games lack these days. 10/10 Uplink Succesful
20 years later and it is still the best hacker game on the market.

It's outdated, but it was one of the best hacking games.
Lots of fun as a roleplaying experience. The music is incredible and there are some really cool details in the way the simulation of the world works, and having the whole game run as if it were a desktop client is really neat. There are only so many mission types though and once you've done a mission type once you will know exactly how it goes every time. In just 9 hours I completed the "campaign" missions and did everything. Buy it on sale
> Be me > Have a run going smoothly > All apps upgraded to latest versions > Gateway fully upgraded > Put several high-ranking hackers to jail > Earns tens of thousands a day > Decided to skimp 1500 from a job just to test things out > Get disavowed less than five minutes later
100% altered my brain chemistry, one of my all time favorites growing up
Old but gold, amazing game even for newer generations. Game includes awesome tracker music. This game gives you hacker abilities, people might think that you're hacking the FBI (taken from a 4chan post). Does not launch propertly under the native Linux port of the game, so just go ahead and switch on Proton and play the Windows version instead.
Couldn't get it to work for me. Guess I don't get to hack now :(
Don't launch this on Linux. It messes up your display settings outside of the game.
