Void Future: Hacking Protocol

The game looks great, the atmosphere is awesome, and it's definitely not one of those games where you're just clicking through a tutorial. It actually makes you think, and it's pretty challenging, which I appreciate. Solid first impression. Looking forward to playing more. ...Now hit the space bar. 😄

The first part of the game is about using a console and commands to hack various targets. The ambience is carefully chiseled around the story due to a local artist composing it; This is a great puzzle style game for people that fiddle with linux or powershell commands.

I wish there was a neutral button. It's not a bad game. But the hacking is not very realistic. Not enough to call it a hacking simulator, more like hacking puzzles. It's mission based and linear, not much exploration and discovery involved. Nice cyberpunk aesthetic though. It could be a great game if the hacking was more realistic, and there was just a little more to do.

Uplink-style hacking sim with a clean minimalist terminal aesthetic. The first hour so far is mostly tutorial missions: some password cracking, some route tracing, bouncing a lot. The tension loop works, you're always in the middle of something while the tracking fills up if you're not carefull. Story hooks are cyberpunk-ish style but the atmosphere carries it. Puzzles lean more "type the right command" than real problem-solving yet; hoping it deepens with the Void Future 2 if it comes out. Worth the price, its more than decent for the value you get in return.

Really cool hacking simulator! I love the main idea, and having it in first-person with actual interactive elements makes it way more immersive than most other games like this. The graphics look super nice, the UI is clean and easy to use, and the tutorials actually do a great job explaining things and the Hint button is doing the best part :) . Definitely going to put way more hours into this one!

Picked this up on release and I'm hooked. The atmosphere is doing serious work here, the music and the whole retro-futuristic terminal look nail the vibe, and it feels way more polished than I expected from a small indie. The trace meter is the star. You're always halfway through something when it starts climbing, and that "do I grab one more file or bail" moment gets me every time. Got greedy, paid for it, immediately did it again. Tutorials are well done too. I'm not a command line person at all and I never felt lost the hint button is there when you need it without doing the thinking for you.

This game was fun. Some parts can be very confusing with a very simple solution lol. Feels like some things like "decrypt" i never had to use in the game. A BIG TIP, ALWAYS BOUNCE, IF YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW. Trace levels carry over and can definitely almost mess you up in the end. Can't say I understood the ending because by the time I finished all the hacking, my brain was already scrambled lmao.
