You sit down thinking it’s going to be a casual 10-minute card game, and 45 minutes later, relationships are ruined, screaming matches have occurred over a stacked +4, and someone has deleted Discord. Core gameplay is solid, nostalgic, and genuinely a blast when it actually functions. The Good Classic Rules & Customization: You can toggle popular house rules (7-0 hand swaps, Stacking +2/+4s, Jump-In), which makes matches way more chaotic and fun. Fun DLC Themes: DLC packs like UNO Flip!, Ray man, and Show 'Em No Mercy actually add interesting mechanics to spice things up. Great with Mates: If you can get a lobby full of friends, it’s peak banter. The Bad (Why the Steam Recent Reviews are "Mixed")Ubisoft Connect Bloat: You buy a basic $10 card game on Steam, only to be forced to launch Ubisoft Connect on top of it. Account linking errors, launcher crashes, and random login bugs plague the startup process. Connection / Net code Issues: Joining lobbies or staying connected in online matches can feel like a toss-up. Random disconnections, lobby freezes, and host migrations ruin matches mid-game. DLC Nickel-and-Diming: The base game feels bare-bones, and Ubisoft aggressively pushes cosmetic board themes and rule expansions as extra paid DLC. Rage-Quitting / Bot Takeover: When playing with randoms online, the moment someone gets hit with a +4, they quit. They get replaced by an AI bot that either plays like a grandmaster or completely throws the match. 💡 The Verdict "A top-tier party game trapped inside a bottom-tier launcher." If you can catch it on sale for $3 - $4, and you have a dedicated group of 3 or 4 friends to play custom lobbies with, it's worth picking up for a quick laugh. Otherwise, if you just want to play card/board games on PC without the Ubisoft headache, grab Tabletop Simulator instead.
