This Canasta game looks great, the voice work is sketchy but okay. The single player AI is atrocious! Don't be confused about AI when I say AI. I'm not talking about ChatGPT or DeepSeek here, I'm talking about the computer controlled players in a single player game. Here is an example of how bad the AI in this game is: When I finally was able to go out I got to see the other players hands. My partner in this 4 player game had 5 8's 4 K's 3 A's and a Joker. He could have gone out on his turn! He choose to hold on to all those cards. We were penalized a large sum of points for all the cards in his hand that he could have played. If the developers are still working on these card games, they really need to work on getting their computer controlled players to play a decent game of Canasta. I can't recommend this to anyone knowing that the AI in it is as crap as it is.
I was really looking for a good Canasta game and really thought this might be it. The game looks like it was designed in the late 90s and when I went to the online portal, it only had 8 people online. Unfortunately, it seems that there is no player base.
The game does not implement the rules of Canasta correctly. If I meld with a complete canasta when the total card face value is below the meld limit the game expects additional cards to be melded, despite the maximum meld limit being 120 and the minimum canasta value being 300. The game also incorrectly allows the top discard to be picked up and added to a completed canasta. There have been occasions where only 800 points is credited when a team has more than 4 red threes and other occasions when the correct value has been credited. Also, when a team has been caught with 5 red threes but not melded when the other side goes out, the negative score for red threes is given as -100 instead of -900. There is no way to alter the red three scoring rule to accommodate "4 x red three rule replaced by all 6 worth 1000 points" when playing a three-pack game. It would be nice to see Samba (sequence) canastas supported in a 3 pack game as well as the Bolivia (all wild card) canastas. The computer "partner" algorithm does not implement a correct minimax assessment. For example, when playing with three packs and wild canastas enabled with a 1000pt value, if I meld with 4 x Sevens and 4 x wild cards and my partner has 3 x wild cards in his hand, he will complete the Sevens canasta for 300 points rather than the wild canasta for 1000 points. Also, when our opponents have yet to meld, the computer partner will help them by throwing away 20 point aces or 10 point cards rather than risk breaking some set in his hand to maximise the constraint on the opponents. I initially would not recommend this game because of the above, but as I approach 90 hours of playing the game I can say that it is entertainig to play despite the faults so I have changed my recommendation.

Worked fine in Linux. I am very pleased but I needed some help from the publishers of Canasta. It is not for dummies.
The game is a very good game..Once in awhile the computer will open with less than 50 points.. Doesn't happen too often but still happens. I still enjoy the game. Wish more players will be online to go up against. Brings back memories when I used to play this way back when. I would recommend anyone this game. Its easy to learn.
"Fun and Addictive! Highly Recommend!" Canasta 3D is a fantastic digital version of the classic card game! The gameplay is smooth, and the 3D graphics give it a unique touch, making it feel fresh and engaging. I love how easy it is to jump in and start playing, whether you're a seasoned Canasta player or a newcomer. The AI is challenging but fair, and there are various modes to keep things interesting. Overall, it’s a great way to enjoy Canasta without needing a deck of cards. Definitely recommend it to card game fans!
There is something very flawed with this game. You can't discard when you should be allowed to and you can't pick up cards when you need to. And if you happen to make an error picking up a card from the discard and not the pile, you can't put it back and have to end the game. I am pretty sure the AI in this game cheats!!
