About
Unmourned is a first-person psychological horror game where unsettling gameplay and a chilling story collide.
The unmourned are never at peace... and neither are you.
The story follows Jason, a man who moves into a new house and soon begins to experience disturbing paranormal activities. As he searches for answers, he is haunted by visions of the past, revealing a dark and tragic history tied to the previous owners. The family that once lived there mysteriously disappeared, and as Jason delves deeper into the house’s dark past, he uncovers a hidden door that reveals secrets meant to remain buried forever.
Transition between reality and visions as you're forced to experience haunting memories. Each shift reveals disturbing events, bringing you closer to the tragic story that ties the haunting to the house.
"Survive the darkness, or be consumed by it."
Unmourned features a set of mechanics designed to heighten the tension and terror of your experience:
Random Event System: Paranormal activities occur randomly throughout the house, ensuring no two experiences are the same. You never know what might happen next.
Sanity System: The longer you remain in the dark, the more your grip on reality weakens. As your sanity fades, the paranormal activity around you grows stronger, bringing you closer to the edge of insanity.
Night Vision Camera: A camera equipped with night vision, helping you navigate dark areas and escape lurking threats.
Photographic Camera: When the lights go out, the only way to uncover hidden truths is through the lens of your camera. Use it to reveal what the darkness conceals.

Quickly I point out that in some horror games... you don't have a reflection in mirrors. Now I understand the idea behind it mostly... it's to keep the player immersed as if "they're" the ones in the situation. However; in respect to this game... there's a much deeper meaning behind it. The reason there's no reflection in the mirrors... is because this developer is to ashamed to even look in the mirror at themselves in real life. Because they know what they did. I haven't really seen it pointed out yet... but I'm about to enlighten the masses. The "Codebros Studio" has blatantly and unapologetically ripped off "Visage". There are so many scathing instances that chat and I started to lose count. Still... that doesn't take away from the obvious once it's pointed out. If you own this game... and are beyond the refund term... play it again for yourself with that little tidbit that I've given you... and you'll see it to. If you're considering purchasing this game... DO NOT. You'd be supporting an unimaginative uncreative group who just copy pasted the Temu version of a great studios work. "Codebros"... you should be ashamed of yourselves. I wasn't the only one calling you out during my stream of this game either... so the word is going to get out there... in more ways than just my review that most people will just glaze over. A review that you probably won't even pay attention to... but the many voices who saw you bastardize one of the greatest horror games ever made by stealing their work... will ring loudly. Just because you made "subtle" changes... doesn't take away from the fact that it screams in the players face that you stole the entire idea from "Visage" and "Sadsquare Studios". Try to argue the fact... I invite you to. Because I promise you with the knowledge of the game "Visage" that I have stacked up against the minimal investment I gave your game once I discovered the creative theft that this "game" (and I say that with a scoff) was... I will obliterate and humiliate you if you try. Because you yourself know there's way too many similarities for you to play "dumb". Own up to what you did... and take this a lesson that you may get away for a while by stealing other peoples work... but someone... somewhere... will eventually call you out. I'm not even going to engage in the fact that most of the wall art in your game is obviously AI generated... that's another topic all together... and against Steam TOS since you failed to disclose that anywhere. You should be ashamed... and I and many others... are ashamed of you. I'll take my $25 back now.
This game made little to no sense. Visually at first glance it is pretty. Though a couple jumpscares in it falls apart. The AI makes it feel like it's regurgitated The story makes absolutely no sense. And fails to even keep consistency. It also isn't very optimized and eats up too much cpu.
Hey Devs, I am towards the end of the game and I am very sad I cannot finish it due to the forced use of a camera's flash. I have a seizure disorder and the constant flashing makes me ill and will eventually cause a seizure. I went to the settings and there's nothing I can do to get around this. I hope you add a setting to go around this in the future because I'd love to finish the game, but at this point in time, it's not an option for me. I otherwise did enjoy this game. I am just sad it is not more disability friendly. Don't play if you have epilepsy, seizure disorder, or sensitivity to flashing. The last third of the game requires the use to a constant camera flash to see (it's impossible to see anything without the flash).
Unmourned starts off surprisingly strong, with a grounded atmosphere and story elements that feel deliberate and engaging. Unfortunately, the second half throws all of that away. The narrative becomes messy and incoherent, important developments feel random, and the game stops giving the player any reason to stay emotionally invested. It genuinely felt like two completely different games stitched together, and by the end I was more confused than interested.... It's like they ran out of ideas and said ♥♥♥♥ it, "Outlast 2."
Feels like AI slop, whether it is or not. Ripped off Outlast. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!
Mostly positive vera oru kedu!!
FINE but to much walking around
Dear Devs, Geek In Miami here. How are you doing? Nm I hope you stub your toe in the middle of the night. Your game was going to get aa 9/10 if it wouldve ended at the 1st church part. But you dragged it on for so long that you lost the point of the game so Ill give a 2/10
