About

In Unexpected Consequences, you will step into the role of a sophomore at Ocean City University with a tragic past. Three years after a close friend's unfortunate accident, followed shortly by the death of your parents, two new young women come into your life, triggering a chain of events that lead to you reconnecting with your first love and learning the truth about the events of three years ago.
With the help of some of your parents' former FBI colleagues and an international task force, you'll dive headfirst into an investigation that will expose a ruthless syndicate whose reach extends far beyond Ocean City, making new friends along the way and choosing which relationships to nurture into something more. Be careful, though, as some choices will make you the arbiter of life and death, and some consequences may just be unexpected.

Your new roommates, along with friends, both old and new, make up the nine potential love interests you will encounter. Will you build a harem of gorgeous women who love not only you but each other as well, or will you settle for something less? The decision is in your hands as you choose which of the beauties in your life you want to be more than just friends.

I recommend this VN and at the same time, I don't. So, I've followed this VN for several years now, here and before on F95. I'll say that overall, it's good. Some of the graphics could use a refresh. It does look old at this point and the animations come across as fairly robotic at times, but personally I'd rather the dev continue to cook until their actually finished with the story then go back a do a revamp and perhaps release a remake at a discounted price for all those who have purchased the VN on Steam (wink wink). With this in mind, I'd still mostly recommend this VN, especially while it's on sale. The story isn't anything special compared to the a lot other VNs out there, but it's good. It's humorous and entertaining, and If I were to place it into any specific category I'd say it starts out as a slice of life VN. That's is until it goes way off the rails with
MC getting recruited to be a spy and helping to take down a perverted cult like organization that's somehow also attached to his past
. LMFAO. No, I'm not making this up. This sh!t had me rolling and I know it's supposed to be a semi-serious point in the VN, but I could not stop laughing at the lunacy take place in front of me and I just kept cracking jokes left and right. Like, what even is this? ʱªʱªʱª(˃̣̣̥˂̣̣̥) It's not as bad as some truly awful VNs I've gone through but it was definitely a, "hold up, wait a minute, something ain't right," moment for me. Additionally, the models are good looking, and there aren't any no glaring mistakes that pop up as you progress. Which can happen in VNs. I haven't had problems with save files transferring, a common problem in Early Access. But like most VNs, nothing about them seem particularly realistic. You won't ever be questioning, "is this AI or possibly a real person," but their attractive which is more than I can say for 90% of modern AAA titles these days. So that's a plus. However, this matched with the robotic nature of the animations can make the VN come off as particularly "old." Unfortunately, I'm starting to think a lot of reviewers forget that AI is still a new invention and hasn't been around/able to do the things it can now on mass until less than a year ago. Plus VNs up to about 2 years ago, all looked like this. Only a few, very few, looked like they were being developed by a much larger teams who took the things they learned from past projects and applied them to more "modern" looking VNs. It was a very rare thing to not have a VN that looked, well like this one does. And this was in development long before 2023 too mind you, I can assure you of that. So given the age of it, it's actually on par with a lot of other VNs. But I get it. Compared to a handful of other VNs I own from the same time period, this isn't even close visually. Doesn't make it bad, but the fun writing is doing some heavy lifting here and if you can't connect with the characters or the story this isn't going to be your bag. Look, if you're thinking of picking this up, do it, put on a timer when you start and if you can't connect with story within an hour and forty-five minutes, just return it. While I still recommend this VN, I'm also realistic and know this will not click with everyone.
Alot still to come
