About
UnDuster is a tight precision platformer with two versatile movement abilities - a fast 8 directional dash that sucks you wherever you need to go, and a sustained omnidirectional blast that can blow you away from any hazard.
Gertrude Gummers has lived a long fulfilled life, and the light at the end of the tunnel (retirement) draws ever nearer. But the time has come for one last job. The clients for her maid service have always been eccentric, but the grand secluded manor she has arrived at is more ominous than most. Nothing her custom-built Septuple-A battery powered vacuum can’t handle though.

UnDuster was originally made for the BIGMODE Game Jam in 2023 where it placed #8 in Fun and won a Judge's Choice certificate for "Least Dusty Platforming."

If you liked Celeste but felt it was missing out on core dust elements, your hopes and prayers have been answered. Good bit of fun and for the price its an easy recommendation! I'll be intrigued to see what speed runners do with this one.
Tight, challenging platforming. Incredibly polished. Must play for precision platformer fans. Well worth $5!
Very fun game if you are into precision platformers. It took me about 1 and a half hours to beat and I really enjoyed the time I spent with it. It's worth the asking price for sure. The main mechanics are quite silly in concept but functionally it's just a dash and a jet-pack. This is probably a me issue but even up until the very end I was still mixing up the two abilities because they look very similar and are both tied to mouse buttons. Not a huge issue but a little difficult to get used to. The highlight of the game for me was the final floor, it had really fast and challenging platforming and some awesome art. I enjoyed the other floors too but they felt a little too similar after a while. Every one of them introduces some new mechanic that is first introduced and then later combined with the previous ones while the complexity of the setups increases. Most of the gimmicks were really fun, with the exception of the movable platforms. It was a cool concept but they are a bit jank. Sometimes I would suck a platform but it would pass through me and I'd die to the spikes behind it. Or if you have to go down diagonally it does this little wavedash thing that is more annoying than helpful. Overall I would recommend this game for sure. Not super long but definitely worth it.
A truly great and tight platformer. The movement is well polished and feels absolutely stellar. Each level adds new mechanics and feels very distinct from the last. (The level art is so good) It's challenging, but so rewarding.
I'm so full of stickers yum
my dust was un
I've been following this game from the very beginning. SO happy to see this team put out such a polished final product.
Very cute little indie game. Tight platforming, good pixel art, nice soundtrack. Cool to see how far it's come from the big mode game jam. Still short and sweet but a very good time nonetheless :)
Played through the first few levels of UnDuster live on my Youtube channel and had a blast - enough so that I've now finished the game in my spare time. UnDuster is a solid Celeste-like that expands open the movement and momentum mechanics enough that it feels like a refreshing approach to the genre in it's own way. It's a relatively short game, around 1.5 to 2 hours long, but very technical, so depending on your skill level, mileage may vary. I have to give praise to the great aesthetic of the game: The art, music and ambience are all cohesive, but the similarity of the levels does result in them feeling a bit samey and forgettable sadly. I did experience some screen tearing, so the addition of a V-Sync option would be appreciated. In terms of level design, there are some creative mechanics that are fun to interact with, although I found some issues with passing through the suck-platforms in later levels - seems to be a problem with being too close to them when they are triggered. The final level is a great chase sequence that forces the player to rethink their movement through a level, however the payoff at the end didn't quite feel worth it. A little more visual oomph in the final moment would go a long way to making it feel more satisfying, as well as an ending sequence, rather than just going back to the level select screen. One final thing I would've loved to have seen is an actual final bill from Gertrude with a $ value on it - even if just for comedic purposes. Minor gripes aside, this is a great experience, and an awesome student indie team that deserves your support.
UnDuster has base price where i live is 4.99€ so I set out to play it for 5 hours to see if the game is your monies worth I ended up beating the game in just under 3 hours I made a review on my youtube channel: https://youtu.be/ih9jVLB3kb4 I rated the game on these three simple categories: Gameplay (4/5) Content (3/5) Monies Worth (4/5) UnDuster is a great precision platformer that just needs more levels! The controls and mechanics are tight and it is just your skills that limits you. If you really like precision platformers, give this developer some of your money, so he can make more!
