Devs copy-pasted the first game with some QoLs and additions, but forgot to copy the most "core and fun" part. Q: Would I recommend? A: Yes, but be aware, the game lost its fun. [+] 1) Good performance Unless you raise a lot of chickens, then FPS drops by half. 2) Good progression 3) Some funny callbacks [-] 1) No more fun The devs forgot to copy what made the first game fun - the ability to raise creatures you killed. You are a necromancer in this game! What is the point, if you cannot raise anyone you killed?! In the first game you could raise even bosses! Now you just pick up out of 5 units and create only them out of bones of your enemies. What a dumb decision... 2) Small variety of units Again, you cannot raise anyone you want anymore. The game only allows you to create certain types of units. 3) Same old game, but with QoLs and additions here and there 4) Regressed gameplay 5) Dumb secrets Chests are placed in plain sight and that's what considered a secret in this game. There are some good ones, though, but they are handful. Anyway, such a missed opportunity. Devs could do something like Vampire Survivors, they already have a formula for that, but they decided to just copy and regress the first game... Conclusion: 5/10
Uninspiring and boring
Addictive. Only problem is in the Forgotten Sanctuary map - sudden difficulty spike. Try to use a guide maybe on that map.
Wanted to be a Necromancer? Well too bad, the sequel throws that idea away and forces you into a pre-setup unit spawned system. Killed a bunch of enemies, well now choose who they become when you bring them back! Forget being a necromancer, you are now a magician!! Hard Pass on this game.
Fun (Steam held a gun to my head and said I have to use words when I recommend a game.)
does anyone remember the old overlord games? kinda like that but less voice acting humour, and more txt puns. 9/10
I'll keep it simple. The game is one dimensional, shallow and boring.
Polar bear build rules
Good way to spend 20 hours.
