This is a great VR flight game that is tough, but fair. Clearly inspired by Pilotwings , it's got great motion based controls and a good deal of challenges and missions - along with a free flight option. 8/10 Would try and get that pesky gold again.
Having a great time with this in 2023
I'm new to VR. I got this game because it looked fairly simple and fun Its a blast to fly around and complete missions without over complicated controls. I recommend for anyone who likes chill flying games!
Super fun, relaxing casual flying game. I played with an Index, using a PS5 controller. I like it a lot.
Wonderful physics. Fun, stylized graphics. Great performance. Very fun. Wheels up!
This game is one of those simulators where you can relax (during free-flight) and enjoy the surroundings. While very cartoonish, the game is still pretty good looking. Some of the missions you will go through can get intense due to their time-limits and thus the "relax" is sometimes not there.
Stuck on press any button screen, Tried on two computers (index and psvr2). Tested after 14 days so no refund. Dont waste money on a broken pos.
This is an older VR game and the sequel is coming out soon (or may already be out as you're reading this). Some of the mechanics are wonky at times. That said, it is a fairly enjoyable, if basic, game for flying enthusiasts. It took me ~30 hours to gold everything (~210 missions) It only takes ~10 hours to get all the airports (8) and planes (4) though. If you have issues with controller drift then turn off vibrations. I had no issues with my previous WMR setup but for my Index I had to use a custom controller setup where I turned off haptics and poses to get the controller vibrations to turn off. If you're going for full completion and all golds a few tips: 1. The Gee Bee will lose only a little energy in a slight climb and gain more than it loses during the descent. 2. Not all missions require full points to get gold. 3. The picture missions often have weird "Green" locations. Try flying higher or lower than it says. Closer or further. Some require you nearly perfectly recreate the pictures and others doesn't seem to care at all. 4. In race missions the NPCs can wreck you in the air but you cannot wreck them. Once you're on the ground they cannot wreck you anymore. 5. Sometimes you'll need to grab "forward" of the throttle to get it all the way back on landing. If you have a good landing setup you can also turn off the magneto to kill the engine. All in all the game isn't perfect. Even with the simplistic graphics it can cause some nausea in the VR newbie or sensitive. But for the flying enthusiast it's good and IMO a must have along with VTOL VR and VRChat (for the flying world).
I bought Ultrawings for it's support for the T-Flight HOTAS in Flat Screen mode, but didn't actually try it until I got a Quest 2 VR Headset last month. From the first take-off, this game has been a delightful escape. Even with "Simulation" mode, the flight dynamics are approachable (and simple) enough for anyone to get a great sensation of flying.
Purchased a while back but never got into with an XBOX ONE S controller. Recently got a Logitech hotas so I decided to give it another chance. Total pain in the you know what to map the controller but I finally prevailed which made the game so much more enjoyable. The game doesn't offer custom mapping so it needs to be done manually via configuration files within it's directory structure. These files load when you launch the game and assign the custom mapping so your hotos works properly. The XBOX ONE S works great by default but as far as setting up a hotas flight stick you may struggle to get it going without guidance. I pretty much got it working by reading a few tips online and working it out via trial and error. I studied and modified some of the files from another controller schema to make it work with my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro hotas. I edited some of the files in ... C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Ultrawings\Ultrawings_Data\StreamingAssets\Data\Config\Controller\Schema\VIVEGamepad with files found in .. C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Ultrawings\Ultrawings_Data\StreamingAssets\Data\Config\Controller\Schema\SaitekRhinoRift That allowed me to successfully map the pitch, roll, flaps and throttle. It works flawless along with the HP Reverb G2.
