-Very fun deck builder with unique mechanics. -Good replayability with the amount of cards/artifacts you can choose. -A bit confusing at first but the games explains to you everything you need to know. -Has some funny small references to other games. -Got further in the game than in the actual degree 10/10.
A cool deckbuilder with some interesting ideas. The remember/forget mechanic makes it play very differently to any other deckbuilder I've seen. After spending a good number of hours playing the game, I can say it has a surprising amount of replay value. I thought I'd try 2-3 builds and that'd be it, but I just keep coming back. I will say the higher difficulties could be more interesting, they don't feel like they really add anything to the experience. The highest one actually takes away from the build variety.

Funny gameplay, nice enemies, it really makes you wanna re-play it and make new decks. Nerf the experimental shape.
Despite being a relatively small game, it boasts mutliple cool and unusual mechanics you won't find anywhere else, even having a decent amount of replay value. Don't let the clip-art visual style scare you away, the game is surprisingly fun.
Reviewing card games is what we do!
Sometimes free games are experimental but provide a unique experience, sometimes they serve as prototypes to build for a new game, and sometimes they are just passion projects. This game definitely seem like it is a passion project as it's robust and bug free. Unfortunately, I simply did not have have fun with it. I will be going into to detail below, probably more than warranted, so feel free to skip to conclusion. At the end of the day, it's a free game so no harm in downloading it and trying it for yourself. As said, I did not enjoy it, but credit where credit is due the game it does offer a few mechanics that are not always seen in deckbuilders. You can remember (draw cards for 1 energy), forget (discard cards for 25% of getting 1 energy) and you have a special negative status called stress that accumulates over time and needs to be managed. While drawing cards for energy is a great addition, forgetting having a big chance to fail just forces more clicking, usually without any payout and introduces more RNG (which deckbuilders inherently already have enough of). Stress mechanic slightly adds more complexity, but I can't say it was fun to manage. The game also utilizes positioning which has become very popular in card games over the past years but feels very one sided. Enemies tend to reach you wherever you are standing, but on the other hand, your cards are very sensitive to position. Not only you can't use cards in some positions at all, but you can't even reach enemies if they are in certain positions. This means that if an enemy moves you and you don't have a move card to reset, most of your cards can become dead-weight so you desperately try to cycle your deck to find a move card. Adding move cards helps with this, but in some fights they become utterly useless, and dead weight themselves. Understanding what cards to bring to which battle is very important, but unfortunately, you just need to fail to learn which requires even more time investment and then memorize for next time Lastly, in order to get new cards first you have to solve a speed test successfully. It feels so odd to have this, as everything else is turn based and this core part of getting new cards tests skills that the game usually does not require anywhere else.
The positive
+ Mechanic to draw more cards for energy is great since it mitigates problems with drawing a dead hand.
The neutral
* Position based combat, stress and discarding cards for energy are all interesting mechanics, but their implementation could be better and more rewarding to interact with.
The bad
- The game just feels a bit wonky overall. There are different parts of the game, but they don't seamlessly fit together well.
Conclusion:
Some good ideas but the final result was not appealing. Battles feel long, and deckbuilding was not as fun as other games. New mechanics like stress and discarding cards for energy seem more interesting on paper but in practice become tedious to interact with. its pretty fun
once you understand the wording this game uses (knowledge, focus... etc) its a short not complicated card game. there are 2 card builds that are successful, pet deck and a resource deck. if you have played any type of card game you would understand. having played card games most of my life, this was enjoyable but very simplistic. i suggest play it, beat it and then uninstall.
