Sink your teeth into an action-packed educational adventure. Hungry sharks and piranhas are on the hunt for food as you SCUBA dive into the deep blue unknown. But if you can type words fast enough, they'll be zapped before they can turn you into lunch.

love this game
Been playing this since I was a kid on our family computer, now that I have my own PC, I bought it again for nostalgia!
the save file not working on win 11 is all i can said
I can see why people grew up playing this game. my only nitpick is that i cant screenshot anything here but thats with all the PopCap games anyways
An absolute 2000s computer lab masterpiece that is still the gold standard for typing games—if you can get it to run. Before PopCap Games went on to conquer the world with Plants vs. Zombies, they built Typer Shark! Deluxe, an absolute masterclass in turning an educational typing tutor into a high-octane, adrenaline-fueled deep-sea adventure. Firing it up instantly triggers an overwhelming wave of nostalgia, from the iconic retro sound effects to the low-budget, charming underwater aesthetic. You play as a scuba diver descending into the deep blue sea, forced to aggressively type out words appearing on the sides of incoming sharks, piranhas, and jellyfish to zap them before they eat you. The raw gameplay loop is beautifully paced and incredibly satisfying, successfully tricking millions of kids into learning proper home-row touch-typing form while genuinely sweating over a keyboard. The game package still holds up as a phenomenal training tool, offering an incredibly robust Tutor Mode to build accuracy, a narrative-driven Adventure Mode full of ancient shipwrecks and giant mechanical boss fights, and a brutal, endless Abyss Mode that pushes your words-per-minute limits to the absolute extreme. The tactile, ASMR-like satisfaction of hitting a flawless typing streak while a heavy electronic soundtrack bumps in the background provides an unmatched gameplay trance. Unlike modern typing software that feels like an uninspired chore, Typer Shark wraps its core educational mechanics in a genuinely compelling risk-reward system where a single spelling typo can result in a frantic, panic-inducing scramble for survival. Unfortunately, the reason why its modern Steam page suffers from a wave of negative reviews comes down to severe compatibility and registry bugs on modern operating systems. Because the code hasn't been properly updated since 2006, running it on Windows 10 or 11 can be an absolute headache. A massive portion of the community reports a critical error where the game throws a "fatal registry reading error" upon booting, completely erasing your profile and progress every single time you close the app. Even worse, the legacy engine frequently glitches upon exit, remaining permanently running in your hidden background processes—meaning Steam thinks you are playing it forever, blocking you from opening other games until you manually open your Task Manager to kill it. It remains an absolute masterpiece of game design, but it desperately needs a modern compatibility patch. 8/10 — I successfully boosted my typing speed to 90 words per minute while fighting off a giant mutant jellyfish, but I had to fight my computer's Task Manager for 10 minutes just to close the game. An old-school classic trapped in a time capsule.
typer shark is a fantastic game
嗯...缺点就是不能练习打中文字
Hits my nostalgia buttons but also use it as a kind of meditation. Just super relaxing.
wish i could turn back time to 08
