Addicting game that will make you question whether the computer can read you hand. The UI can be frustrating at times but the deep gameplay makes up for it. What I like most about the game is that it feels like it really puts me into the shoes of policy makers during the Cold War. You cannot your opponent in every region and therefore learn to accept that you cannot control (or influence) the entire globe. Some areas will fall to your opponent and... that's OK.
Definitely recommended if you're a fan of the board game - it's a faithful recreation of the rules, keeps the visual style and even augments it with some nice ambient effects and iconic Cold War quotes in the audio. I used this to learn the rules and basic strats so I could give my brother a decent game and it served well for that purpose. There is a serviceable AI opponent that will keep you entertained for a few games when you're starting out - although experienced players will need to give it a big handicap (think 80s chess engines, iykyk). After that you can try a real opponent - in 2026 you can still find a small but friendly community in the lobby with games going at most times, although you might not be able to pick and choose level/variant/time control unless you're prepared to wait around a bit. The UI is intuitive enough but not the most polished - expected to be frustrated by an all-or-nothing undo button that takes you all the way back to you last committal action, a hand that keeps rearranging itself despite your best efforts to put it in a sensible order, and a defcon suicide warning that will set your nerves a-jangling with false positives. But none of this really breaks the experience, and having played both this and the OTB versions, I think this one actually comes out on top - no fiddly tokens, guaranteed accuracy, and nice soundtrack to boot.

Good reproduction of the board game. Easy to understand. A little hard to learn.
Good for brain
Hands down the best boardgame I've played (out of many). Requires long-term planning, guile and nerve while remaining fast-paced and accessible.
