About
Take control of an adorable turnip who happens to be an absolute menace to society. After failing to pay taxes and getting evicted from your home, you must go on an epic quest to pay back your massive debt to Mayor Onion. Solve plantastic puzzles, meet eccentric vegetables and fruits, and take on treacherous fights against animals both big and small. beat this in 3 hours ( other 2 hours was from years ago ) its ok, nothing crazy but an ok time killer. had classic millennial writing, maybe get it on sale. decided to play the 2nd one i got for free on epic (thank god i didn't pay for it) and as soon as you start the game you get bombarded with free hats, probably half of them are pride hats and a blm hat. uninstalled instantly. if you hate mental illness in your games then stay away from the sequel to this game.
Look, it's got a lot of good. I appreciate the crazy amount of work that went into this. It's a treat to look at, and the moment to moment stuff can be fun, if a little simple. I also happen to appreciate short games. On the other hand, I prefer short, *tight* games, and this isn't "tight": there's a lot of backtracking, which is fine if there's a point, but it's used for padding here—not something you want in a ~3 hour game (plus a roguelike post-game mode I haven't bothered with; it feels like sequel bait, anyhow). Also—and this is nitpicking, but bears saying—the game's title is irrelevant. I think the devs came up with a catchy name they tried reconciling with their game's story, but it doesn't gel; by the time (plot and boss fight spoiler) [spoiler]I was beating a little girl, a mutated nuclear survivor, to death[/spoiler], I was thinking they'd missed a trick. Playing the silliness straight without having to explain why a turnip is even paying taxes would've been funnier; lean more into the gleeful chaos, like Turnip Boy's compulsive document-tearing.
