Reviews
Tunic is, without exaggeration, one of the finest games I have ever played, and it contains some of the best puzzles I have ever had the pleasure of being defeated by. At first glance it presents itself as a small, bright isometric adventure: a little fox, a sword, a sprawling coastline of ruins. What it actually is takes rather longer to dawn on you. Scattered through the world are the pages of an instruction manual — hand-drawn, beautifully illustrated, and written almost entirely in a language you cannot read. Collecting them is the game's true progression system. Your character never grows meaningfully more powerful; you do. The moment you realise that a diagram you glanced at six hours ago was quietly telling you something you were not ready to understand is among the most satisfying sensations the medium has to offer. It is also, unmistakably, a love letter. The debt to The Legend of Zelda is worn openly — the isometric perspective, the dungeons, the sense of a world folding inward on itself — but Dark Souls is every bit as present, from the stamina bar and the dodge roll to the shrines that restore you while reviving everything that killed you. The two bells you must ring to open the way forward are as direct a bow as the game could make without breaking character. And yet Tunic is never merely referential. It borrows the grammar of those games in order to say something entirely its own. For all new players, don't forget: everything you need is in the manual.

Incroyable
An easy 10/10, especially as a couch game to play with a friend or a sibling. Ten minutes into this and you're finally awake.
确实有老塞尔达的味道 我很喜欢弱指引和空间谜题! 很喜欢 很惊喜
Masterpiece
Just an all-around great game, and I would argue a must-play for any classic Zelda fan who wants to scratch that itch. The game gives you just enough clues to figure things out on your own through a really charming SNES-style booklet, for which you have to find the pages yourself. And when you do figure something out, it really gives you a sense of achievement and just makes you feel good/smart. Some of the later optional puzzles, however, are ridiculous. Some of the secret treasures and fairies were a bit tedious and slightly infuriating. Sometimes the game would not recognize your D-pad inputs despite you knowing the answer, so you think you're wrong and eventually you're forced to look it up, only to realize you had the right answer all along. That really robs you of that sense of achievement I mentioned earlier. But for some of the puzzles, I would have never gotten the answer or would have put in many more hours, so props to anyone who managed to figure them out without the internet. There is also a lot of back-and-forth running around to get things towards the end. Not a deal breaker, but it really makes you wish the game had more teleports or a return-to-base/checkpoint item. Played on normal, and it gave me a decent challenge. Never enough to become super frustrating or make me feel like it was impossible, but enough to force me to play smart and carefully. There are maybe some minor things I didn't like, but I would really have to nitpick, so let me end on a positive note. TUNIC is a really solid game that doesn't overstay its welcome, and I have a hard time imagining anyone who is familiar with these types of games not liking it. So if you are even slightly curious, I would encourage you to PLAY IT!
