Great game! I felt like a kid again playing Zelda for the first time. Good soundtrack, challenging puzzles and combat. Absolutely love the cute Fox!!!
Tunic – You Forgot You Were Still That Child
A detailed review of Tunic

A Game That Trusts Its Players
Very few games manage to recreate the feeling of discovering what a video game truly is for the first time. Tunic does exactly that, and it does so brilliantly. At first glance, it seems almost deceptively simple. A small fox wakes up in a mysterious world, finds a stick, fights a few enemies, opens shortcuts... you've probably played games like this before. The beautiful isometric world, the gorgeous soundtrack, and the charming visuals immediately pull you in. That was my first impression too. I enjoyed exploring, admired the art direction, and loved the music, but the combat itself didn't completely win me over. It was good, just not enough to make me think I was playing something truly special. I'm incredibly glad I kept going.

More Than Secrets
Many games hide collectibles. Many games hide optional bosses. Tunic hides understanding itself. The game constantly asks you to observe instead of following markers. It rewards curiosity instead of routine. Every new discovery completely changes the way you look at the world, and places you've already visited suddenly become filled with possibilities you never realized existed. Its incredible in-game manual is one of the smartest mechanics I've ever seen. It isn't just a collectible for completionists; it's your tutorial, your map, your source of knowledge, and one of the biggest puzzles in the entire game. Every page feels meaningful, and every new piece of information becomes another key that unlocks not just doors, but your own understanding of the game. The world itself deserves endless praise. Although it appears relatively small, it is astonishingly dense. Every path, every shortcut, every hidden corner has a purpose. Revisiting familiar areas never feels repetitive because you're constantly seeing them through a completely different lens.

The Moment Everything Clicks
There was a point where I had to stop playing Tunic like an adult trying to optimize everything. Instead, I started looking at its world like a child. I questioned everything. I paid attention to every strange shape, every unusual wall, every tiny detail that normally wouldn't deserve a second glance. Suddenly, exploration stopped being about reaching the next objective and became pure curiosity. That feeling is something I hadn't experienced in years. Then came the true ending. I've finished hundreds of games throughout my life, but I honestly don't remember another ending giving me this level of satisfaction. Not because of a spectacular cutscene or an emotional twist, but because I had earned it. Every revelation, every solved mystery, every connection made along the way led to one final moment that felt deeply rewarding.

It Won't Be for Everyone
Tunic doesn't hold your hand. Sometimes the lock-on system can feel a little clumsy, and a few puzzles can become genuinely frustrating, especially when
a long sequence of inputs is ruined by a tiny mistake
. Likewise, players looking primarily for fast-paced combat may find the action itself less exciting than the exploration. But none of these issues define the experience. The game's true strength lies elsewhere. It is a game about observation, patience, experimentation, and trusting your own intelligence.

Conclusion
Tunic won't appeal to everyone. It doesn't rely on nostalgia. It doesn't try to remind you of your childhood. Instead, it quietly asks a different question: What if that child is still there? The one who jumps from one white stripe to another at a crosswalk because touching the ground is lava. The one who sees faces hidden in clouds or strange shapes in street signs. The one who couldn't walk past a mystery without trying to solve it. To me, that's what Tunic is really about. Growing up doesn't mean losing your sense of wonder. It simply means forgetting that you still have it. Tunic reminded me. And that's why this isn't just one of the best games I've ever played. It's my favorite game of all time.
