Your truck is magic and you now owe a soul debt to the buff isekai elf girl living in your head. Run over pedestrians as Truck-kun in a chaotic OVA-sized campaign, make deliveries, and defeat the Skeleton King across two worlds in this anime driving game with heart!

Carissa Ward was all set to start her new job as the VP of marketing--until YOU hit her with your truck and transported her consciousness to a world of fantasy and magic! Rather than accept her fate, gathering a party and going on a journey of growth and self-discovery, Carissa uses all her knowledge of anime tropes and Japanese RPGs to find a different path:

Pressed into the service of the newly-incarnated buff anime elf, you'll speed your magic delivery truck to complete objectives across two worlds in a focused and flavorful OVA-sized campaign, running over pedestrians, sending them to another world as Truck-kun, and helping Carissa power up a Galactic Gate with the stars you generate together. The Skeleton King waits on the other end of the great divide, and the only way Carissa is getting home is to take a Scroll of Resurrection from his weird, dead, bony hands.
Good luck!!!
Dodge cops, make deliveries, and smash through objects in the chaotic small town of Wenvale, USA!
Complete objectives across two worlds to power up a Galactic Gate with stars and unlock a subversive, heartwarming story rooted in our love for anime.
Run over pedestrians to turn them into monsters Carissa can slay for stars and XP. It's fine! Don't worry! Stop thinking about it!!
Energetic, ska-inspired soundtrack by award-winning composer David Mason (Dredge, Creepy Redneck Dinosaur Mansion 3).

This is a pretty good bite-size game with a banger soundtrack, funny writing, good writing and remarkable art. I would rate it as a solid 8/10 game, the only thing that keeps it from being more is that even for being bite-size... once you've played it for 10 minutes you have the entire gameplay loop, the entire play area and every type of objective encountered. The sad thing is that the last ten minutes of the game shows there's space for a bit more creativity with the formula, but it never really manifests elsewhere in the game. You're also kind of subject to a lot of randomness since some objectives(smash ANY object, smash CARS, smash PEDESTRIANS) are trivial while others(smash trash objects, smash beach chairs) require you to go to more or less a single area or hunt down relatively rare types of objects, and the game values and weights them about the same. Still, minor gripes aside, I am waiting eagerly for the next Strange Scaffold game.
Cringe so bad I wish I was the one hit by a truck.

I ran over an office worker, and now I have to slaughter everyone because I owe a moral debt to a silly bodybuilder elf girl.
A really charming and fun game about vehicular manslaughter!
I do think this game could use a few extra maps to run around in, and maybe some new challenges to add down the line as a potential expansion, However as is the game is really fun, and definitely scratches that Crazy Taxi each with some nice added mechanics and challenges. The characters are also quite fun, and definitely plays great on my Bazzite Linux machine and should work great on Steam Deck too
Fun game! The driving is great and the story is a lot of fun. The map is complex, with a lot of secrets and hidden routes, and many of the milestones reward you for knowing the map well. "Hit 20 Billboards" is a lot easier when you already know where all the billboards are. The one flaw for me is that it's pretty bad for motion sickness, and I can't play for more than 45 minutes at a time. When the cops chase you, the camera pulls back to give you a wider view, so once cops start chasing you the camera will often pull back and go forward several times rapidly as you defeat cops and more show up. Also, cops will often hit you in a way that will suddenly move you in an unexpected direction, which doesn't help the motion sickness. You can modify FOV, screenshake, and steering sensitivity, but that's it. Definitely still worth playing, it just might need to be in short bursts for folks with motion sickness.

Truck-kun is very good imo. Playthrough doesn't take long and arcae-ish gameplay doesn't become stale so you can enjoy it to the fullest with great soundtrack and simple but very cute story. The game may be pricey, but at a discount you should really give it a try
As always with a Strange Scaffold release, Truck-kun is Supporting Me from Another World?! is exactly what the description and trailers promise. That being a fun game with a unique concept and interesting gameplay that you can pick up and put down whenever you want. Some of the mechanics might not be super fleshed out in comparison to others and only having a single map can make things a tad repetitive, but that doesn't hold Truck-kun from being a really fun game that you can beat in a sitting or two if the gameplay hooks you.
Agree with the sentiments of most other reviews. The basic premise is pretty solid, but it definitely needs more content. A single map across the entire campaign gets boring and there isn't a lot of variety in the missions themselves. I'd love to see the mechanics tightened up a bit (Collision can be VERY wonky and get you stuck, or get police cars stuck on you, etc) and more things to do. But the basic game has promise. A few of the achievements are just kind of "keep playing long after the game is over" grind stuff. Worth picking up on sale!
