Genre
Ein Twin Stick Action Roguelike Shooter
Story
Fazit
Ein überraschend guter Twin Stick Shooter mit Roguelike Elementen. Wer gerne Rogue likes spielt sollte sich dieses kleine Juwel definitiv mal genauer anschauen. Ein echtes Hidden Gem was ich sehr Empfehlen kann 👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑⠀⠀⠀

Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
 Follow third group
Very good, a bit too easy but I can't say it wasn't a fun one. Gotta commend a roguelike with fast runs where you are the bullet-hell way before it was cool.
Got this from fanatical random game keys, lowkey a fun and good game! very enjoyable in bitesized pieces.
"Trouble Juice" is a small and gory twin-stick roguelike that in its premise feels like a Newgrounds flash-game (which is by no means a bad thing): Choose an oddball character, get into action, get perks, get debuff modifiers, mutilate the shopkeep (or don't). It is what it is and does this part well, but is very light in terms of content (only 3 levels with the same three bosses, only a handful of enemy variety; there are some more perks, but some are quite inferior and some of the later perk-unlocks are quite powerful). It has a nice bingo-like content-unlock system, where you have to fulfill different achievements in consequtive runs in order to get them, but it can nonetheless be 100% in around 2-3 hours (there are different character skins with different endings though). I had my fair share of fun with it! Try it out, if you like some short twin-stick-action!
This game was a blast! Great game play, good music, quick and easy to learn. Thoroughly enjoyed this game!
5.5/10 not bad, not a lot of content but worth a try
TROUBLE JUICE is yet another of literally thousands of 2D retro platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. It's a side-scrolling shooter roguelike, and really badly made. The game's story takes place in a universe-spanning TV show tournament. You play as a character with special abilities, progressing through short runs filled with action, and unlocking prizes in an Achievement Bingo (when having achievements is more important than being a game... that's the state of amateur game development right there). Gameplay involves using character abilities, shooting, and collecting upgrades, all within a lazy, contentless roguelike structure. The game is very very short and can be finished in 30 minutes. Developers have at least some responsibility to provide enough content to make a game last more than 2 hours if they're serious about providing something of value to gamers. There's less content here than some free game demos. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. This looks a lot like it was designed for consoles, but released on Steam instead by mistake. While this is on PC, it has all the hallmarks and deficiencies of a console game, from the clunkier than needed control scheme to the less than cutting edge graphics. There's 10's of thousands of PC games on Steam, and PC gamers deserve only the best. This might not appeal to many gamers due to the lack of PC-centric design. It's unclear why this never made it to the video game console appliances it seems to have been designed for. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's an ugly screen filter meant to make the game look even more obsolete... like the game looks bad enough already, but they actually went out of their way to make it look worse. There's no way to turn this off. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The game features no proper level design or game/story flow/plot, as they opted to try to use samey repetitive procgen algorithms as a substitute for adding such content to the game, to avoid doing the important job of level/map design. As a result, the game doesn't actually have any content worth mentioning, just endless, boring, repetitive, soulless algorithmically generated sameyness. Developers must learn that procedural generation is not an acceptable substitute for content. Some of the defects in the game can be attributed to the choice of using the GameMaker Studio construction kit/toolset. This is a very poor quality toolset favoured by amateur developers as it's cheap and requires little in the way of development skill, but unfortunately has very limited capabilities. Just as you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, you can't make a great video game if you use a terrible engine. GameMaker Studio is most commonly used to make retro pixel shovelware and cash grabs. A strong argument can be made that construction kits like GameMaker Studio should never be used to make games for profit, as the "developer", dietzribi has done here. These construction kits are intended to teach people some of the basic principles of game development, and to make small demos to pass around with friends. They're not intended to replace to actual work of real, professional game developers. So it's inappropriate when amateurs try to use these for profit, without any actual, real game development effort taking place. This doesn't result in products that have any real meaningful value for gamers. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 110,000+ games on Steam? TROUBLE JUICE has the almost comically optimistic (if it wasn't so sad) price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. For comparison, the $5 asking price for this game could get you games like "Just Cause 3", "Dragon Age: Origins" or "Euro Truck Simulator 2". No pixelcrap is worth $5. If developers want to get paid the same kind of money as real game developers who know how to do graphics properly, they need to learn how to do graphics properly.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
Trouble Juice is a fun and colorful roguelite SHMUP with a screen-warping gimmick. Instead of dropping dead, you re-enter the screen from the top or the left/right. Although this doesn't sound spectacular, it feels really fresh at first (but wears off after some time). We choose from up to 5 characters with different abilities, and built up our power by selecting upgrades from juice traders during the run, which lasts about 12 minutes. You unlock new upgrades and characters by completing the game and fulfilling different conditions. While there is some variety, I would argue that you end up taking the same upgrades regardless of which character you play. You've basically seen everything after completing your first run; every subsequent run throws (almost) the same enemies and bosses at you, with only the difficulty differing slightly – depending on the courses you receive. The game is on the easy side and good for about 3-5 hours but not much more, since there is no real endgame, like an endless or survival mode. Recommended on sale if you love 2D run & gun games to the death. 2.5/5
Super fun, quick rougelike - the runs last about 10min which is perfect to just play this game between other tasks or during short waiting periods (especially with a SteamDeck). The gameplay is snappy, thought through and somewhat challenging, although if you get the hang of it and get to know the upgrades it gets easier. Still super fun and also a great game if you’re looking for a fast but not „cheap“ 100% (I‘d say you need around 3hrs) (my playtime is ricked due to playing on steam deck often)
