Reviews
This game deserves much more attention. If you like Metroidvania and are looking for a varied and not too difficult game with some smart puzzles and with great attention to detail created graphics, then Treasure Adventure World is for you. I absolutley can not understand the negative reviews, since I had no remarkable performance issues. Also lighting and controls are in my opinion right as they are. I would buy Treasure Adventure World anytime again and even the full price would not be exaggerated for 10-20 hours gametime.
Several years ago, I found a free indie game called, I believe, Treasure Adventure Island. It sat on my hard drive for a long time before I finally got around to playing it, only to find that it was a charming metroidvania that achieved the difficult feat of being family-friendly but still a very solid, fun game. Many years later, I found this sequel/remake, and I see it's got that same appeal; it's cute, it's fun, it's got challenge but will never make you rip out your hair. The only problem I have with this game is that the engine is a little janky, but that almost ends up giving it a little extra charm.

Cute and relaxing. With a colorful and expressive world. Some nice sidequests and feels good to complete.
Great indie game with a lot of charm. It's an example of what makes indie games so great and truly loved. It diverts from normal expectations. It's not completely refined. It's not perfect. It crashes sometimes. Combat can be repetitive. But it has heart and genuine surprise. It has a great metroidvania open world feel. There are tons of places to go that all feel different and LIVED IN. There are a ton of items to get. The puzzles are truly inventive. The lore is epic and deep. And it has HATS. Give it a chance.
It's a good game but has it's problems. Make sure to access Controls screen right away if your controller does not work. Game crashes a bunch but thanks to the autosave when zoning I never lose any time.
The big gripe is that the basement is too dark (no flashlight at game start), and doors and carry objects use the same action key.
Very nice Adventure Platformer that doesn't rely on timed or complicated jumps. The story is pretty nice and the characters are cute. It has interesting gear that's different from what games like this usually use which is a welcome change. While the game has some linear parts that rely on each other, if you have the right gear to reach something it doesn't matter when you get it and everything can be completed in one play through. It has a few text and minor graphic issues that, in my opinion, are no problem at all. (Like a forgotten word in a speech bubble here and there and underwater a tile behind a wall where there should be darkness is instead transparent / missing.)
the main protag looks like that one girl that sexually assaulted me in the ninth grade. NO I HAVEN'T FORGOTTEN CHRISTABELLE SIMMONS ON 127 WICKER ROAD IN COWARTS, ALABAMA ZIP CODE 36321 I'M COMING FOR MY REVENGE!!!

It's been 6 years since I played this game, I have no idea why I didn't make a review at the time, It was an amazing experience, all this time I thought I had left a review so I didn't bother making one. I won't go into specifics about the game because I'm looking at with rose colored glasses but it is 100% worth a play. The soundtrack on its own is so good, I have not stopped listening to it since I first played. I would very much recommend.
