Suda games are almost always 10/10 in style and rough gameplay and that's generally still the case. It's got co-op and it's intentionally more simplistic. The game is infinitely more enjoyable with better skills -- the dash feels almost mandatory. I never took it off. Must have been doing something very well for me to 100%
I tried so hard to like this game, I completed it, but its just such a 5/10. The story is confusing, the cutscenes are visual novels that are boring, the gameplay is good, but the levels are super long and bloated. The game is meant to be co op but its local only and playing it singleplayer is such a slog. This game really only exists to fund NMH3 and I only played this out of a sense of obligation. It's just not worth it you're not missing much.
I think I'm one of the 15 people on the planet that went "OH MY GOD, IS THAT Tetsugoro Kusabi FROM THE FAMOUS SUDA51 VISUAL NOVEL GAME The Silver Case??? THIS GAME IS PEAK"
i really dont think suda liked what happened with shadows of the damned
*THE* different game of the series. It's a lot of fan service for fans of Suda51 and indie games. Most of the skills are useless, and Badman only becomes interesting in his DLC visual novel. The story is interesting, but using fax machines is kind lame. It's great to have several different enemies compared to the others. Soundtrack? I didn't even notice it. There should be more customization. EXCELLENT.
Hm. These games continue to challenge me in a way that makes it hard to summarize my thoughts at first. The writing is stellar. The game takes breaks between missions to make you read through visual novel segments, and these really stand out as being fun to read. The addition of the Death Glove abilities is very welcome, and toying around with them to find new combinations adds a lot of spice to the gameplay. The visual style isn't bad either, and the UI and boss fights stand out as being excellent, as always. I also have to give them credit, this port crashes a lot less than the first two games. That said, some of these levels are way too long, especially for how tanky certain enemies are. They did strike a sweet spot with some of them, but I was almost begging for certain levels to come to a close 15 minutes before they actually did. This was kind of a problem in the second game, but it feels particularly egregious here. I think this one lacks some of the mass appeal of the first games, and I'm sure many of the references to Suda's past work were lost on me, but I appreciate this title for it's ambition and it's unapologetic story.
played all of the nmh. does tie in but honestly just wiki it if youre going from 1/2 to 3
I dunno I don't really see the hype on this game, The levels just draw out way too long and the music is so repetitive. Same with the combat
This game isnt terrible but it just felt like a holy side quest and missed a lot of potential. Not to mention it just feels very unfinished with many bugs at least on this version of the game, making it a pretty frustrating experience even with coop
