One of those atmospheric puzzle platformers, where you play as... TV! Great level design which actually makes you wanna play one more screen (syndrome). Music is kind of ambient but makes up for mood. Game is somewhat gloomy, not your colorful and sparkling platformer. Solving puzzles reward with brain cells production and progress makes you curious of how the game will end. For more immersion I recommend to play this one at night. Overall good puzzle platformer. Nice to play. Best as a gift for your friends or to relax before sleep. Waiting for sequel <3 <3 <3
A fantastic little platformer with clever level design and a little bit of heart. A trashed TV must find it's remote and escape the trash heap. Controls are tight, difficulty isn't very high, and it has some pretty interesting visuals. Well worth a playthrough.
- story, controls, annoying timed "puzzles", play time about 1hour + TV screen, music
Trash Tv was a nice little puzzle platformer. Take control of a tiny TV and clear the different levels in the recycling centre. You will have to do jump and runs, shoot enemies and solve simple puzzles. There is no real story and there was no real ending… or I might not have found it, but I cleared all levels and got all weapons. I don’t know where the ending could be hidden. Other than that, it was good, but rather short with a gameplay time of about an hour. The atmosphere is fine, and the graphics are too. The soundtrack is quite nice, and the art style isn’t too bad either. Good game to play when you want to relax. 7€ is too much for an 1 hour game though.
INSTALLING NOTHING
Sub-par puzzle platformer. You go around this hub area getting guns that are only used to solve puzzles at that area and never used again. Theres no real story. The puzzles are usually simple enough, but when they introduce the c4 rocket jumping it all goes to sh!t. I could figure out what to do but its so finnicky and poorly designed its all trial and error. On one puzzle you have to switch guns with a 2s countdown at a fast pace but the game doesn't pause or slow down while you do it and the item wheel is super touchy. The worst part is chaining c4 rocket boosts. At this one part you have to rocket boost up to one previously placed c4 and chain explode to get boosted to the side. The problem is instead of being able to single press a button to explode you have to hold the place c4 button for like 2s approximately and then it blows up. This means for chaining you have to hold it then somehow time it with your second hold explosion and hope it works out, which is unnecessarily complicated and so poorly constructed its dumb. I would constantly get stuck on a surface or outcropping or jagged texture with first jump then wouldnt get high enough because you have to be at perfect position and angle. Or other times i wouldn't get high enough and would be blown sideways and not up diagonal. Thats the other problem, sometimes the explosion sends you flying and other times it doesn't. Sometimes I would need to jump to get extra height but you have to try and time the jump with the 2s delay of the hold which once again is just stupid. After 30 min of trying to chain 3 c4 jumps in a row and having to place all 3 again due to trial and error not working I gave up. It wasn't that i couldnt figure it out but the poor game design caused it to be unnecessarily frustrating and gimmicky for no reason. Also without that the game isnt fun or interesting and thankfully only lasts 1.5 hrs. I'd give it a hard skip and save the overpriced 7 bucks. 4/10.
It's okay. TIGsource freeware platformer circa 2008. It was alright. The only reason I rated this down is because I don't think it's really worth buying unless you're seriously starved for puzzle-platformers, and as far as that genre goes this one is pretty simple with very easy puzzles, so I'm not sure it will sate the genre likers out there.
Good game. Pretty underplayed imo. Very nice!
