Excellent little microvania. Some tricky platforming and a novel jetpack ability were the highlights. Music is catchy too. Looking forward to the sequel. *Edit after checking out the dlc* I appreciate that the update was free...but the dlc is certainly not for me. Takes away from the experience as I'm not so found of precision platforming trial and error gameplay or boss rush.
Solid short Metroid-like. The jumps required are a little too precise not to be frustrating considering how fast you move in the air, but you can overcome them with persistence. Expect to get angry. Also, broke the game trying to fullscreen/change resolution. Dev said to press + on the forums, and this worked to fix it, but it's a serious bug that's existed for 3 years, so I suggest not trying to change the res and be prepared to refund. Overall it's definitely worth the price, though.

'Tis fine for what it is and how cheap it is. I don't know what not having checkpoints adds to the game but also most runbacks aren't long enough for it to matter and there -are- checkpoints before bosses anyways so. The combat is... fine, I'm not a huge fan of gunny shooty games and I think the button mapping is strange but you get used to it. A few bosses have attacks that don't quite feel fair but it's all. Fine. I can't say I disliked it? But it's also not particularly interesting or memorable and not very long, either. If you really need your metroidvania fix for cheap, then I guess, sure.
Yeah it's worth the cost. I think that it is indeed a nice project and super playable tho I wouldn't reccomend it if it is your first metroidvania. Try out something else and come back here after. Considering the cost a solid 7/10 Game. Recommend
Recommended but only thanks to its very low price. It is well done but it has some huge flaws that makeprogress way more tedious than needed : - next to no checkpoints, so you're sent back to the starting point whenever you die (and you will die a lot) - weird button config - no way to heal - very hard bosses
A fun micro-vania whose twist (you always respawn from the same place) leads to interesting design which highlights shortcuts and getting to know the map as you dash back to the last place you died. The story is only a light touch - the main draw here is the gameplay, and the retro feel of the visuals and music. For a short game, Trash Quest has a far bit of challenge if you want to opt into it. One of the upgrades took me a while to get, and there seems to be a lot of post-game content to engage with which is significantly harder. But the main game itself is a nice ~2hour game that doesn't feel unsatisfying on its own. Works great on Steam Deck too.
