About
The intricate yet intuitive building mechanic allows you to either choose pre-made vehicles from the game and the community workshop or build your own vehicles completely from scratch using hundreds of blocks that affect both aerodynamics, functionality, speed, combat ability, and much more in a world ruled by reliable physics.
Customize your character and block designs with a heap of different skins, colors, and pattern combinations to create your own personal brand.
The builder is made to be as accessible and intuitive as possible for players who are new to building games while also equipped with features for the more hardcore segment of engineers: Easy to learn, hard to master!
Trailmakers offers an arsenal of 14 different weapons like minigun, EMPs, laser blasters, rocket launchers and shotguns to name a few. Set up a server with your friends or join one of the hundreds of public games to test them out in different PvP scenarios. Fight in the air, ocean, ground, or in space. Your choice of mayhem is entirely up to you.
All game modes in Trailmakers, including the main story, allow Multiplayer for 2-8 people.
Jump into one of the five dedicated sandbox maps, hang out and build together, test each other's vehicles, or share and be inspired from thousands of incredible community made workshop builds.
Controlled chaos, land, sea, air, and space combat awaits you and your friends - or jump into Race Island where 14 different tracks are ready for you to put your name on the leaderboards.
This is the ultimate do-whatever-your-heart-desires game.
In the main game mode, “Pioneers” you will dive head-first into a breathtaking open world with loveable NPCs, challenging enemies, and an adventurous story. Unlock new parts as you complete missions and build different vehicles for the different biomes and terrains - play the campaign alone or multiplayer.
You will join the Trailmakers: An elite society of engineers and are sent out to help the population of Gregory - a community of peaceful frogs who have been invaded by the evil BOTNAKs who are ruthlessly mining the planet and stealing its resources.

After spending quite a bit of time with Trailmakers, I can honestly say that it is a fun game, but it's also one of the most frustrating games I've played when it comes to wasted potential. My biggest issue is the lack of variety in the base game's building blocks. For a game that revolves entirely around creativity and engineering, the selection of wedges, corner wedges, and aircraft panels feels surprisingly limited. I constantly find myself unable to build what I envision because a simple structural piece doesn't exist unless I buy another DLC. That leads into what I consider the game's biggest problem: monetization. The base game may cost around $24, but if you actually want access to many of the useful or interesting blocks, the price quickly climbs well beyond $100. I recently bought a $20 DLC almost exclusively for a single block I needed for a build, and that felt ridiculous. Paying for additional campaigns or cosmetic content is one thing, but paying for basic building pieces in a sandbox game feels more like being nickel-and-dimed than supported with expansions. Multiplayer has also been a disappointment in my experience. Public servers are often laggy, physics can become unstable, and larger creations only make these problems worse. A game built around showing off creations and playing with others loses a lot of its appeal when multiplayer struggles to function smoothly. Another frustration is that the game often feels neglected. There are building limitations and quality-of-life issues that have existed for a long time, yet new DLC continues to appear while many of the core problems remain. It creates the impression that selling more content takes priority over improving the foundation of the game itself. Even with all of that, I still find myself coming back to Trailmakers. The vehicle-building system is genuinely enjoyable, and when everything works, the game can be incredibly fun. That's what makes these issues so disappointing. The game has the potential to be one of the best sandbox builders available, but in its current state it feels like that potential is being held back by expensive DLC, neglected features, and technical problems. I'm leaving a negative review not to demote the game and leave potential buyers on edge about purchasing it, but more to make you guys reading this aware of what is to come.

Amazing game, but after a while you don't really know what to build and then you get bored. Highly recommended for very creative people!
