Trail of Ayash is an innovative and exciting open-world game focused on indigenous people and their struggles. Our world is a unique version of the lands dominated by the myths and legends of Its Inhabitants. Various tribes interact with one another, engaging in diplomacy, war, and expansion. This game is not historically related and doesn't include any real tribe.
We have crafted an open world rife for exploration and conflict. You will interact with the various tribes of indigenous people. That alone can make for a compelling gaming experience, but there is something more. Something much darker that lurks in the forests and wilderness. In the corner of your eye and the slight cracks in the earth. Also, to survive alongside your fellow tribals, you must learn caution! Creatures born from the minds of men and spirits that terrify the soul are talked about in hushed voices around campfires by storytellers and shamans. In the world of Ayash, they are very real, and the monsters of this world must be fought lest you lose your life or your soul to beasts, both natural and profane.

You must change your tactics to survive the ever-changing world around you. You are prey. Become the hunter or die alone and forgotten.
Quests are inspired by various legends, myths, and ordeals from all over the world. Unnatural forces dominate the world. You have the opportunity to save it, or perhaps you crave domination yourself? You can also subjugate the land, becoming the worst beast than anything else in the world, or maybe You want to get by. Be who You want to be. Do you get a nearby friendly tribal to help you build a bridge over a lake? He may ask you something in return but be wary.
Not all tribes are friendly. Some beasts walk and talk in the shape of men. Some tribes engage in cannibalism, sacrifice, and executions. These all exist in the world and are hostile towards you. Do you fight them or sneak around them? Do you commune with their spirits to hide from them? It's up to you, but you may die in the attempt. You will not be missed.
Become Ayash. Once, he was a respected member of his tribe until the war changed everything. Alone and without aid, Ayash must redeem himself amidst the intrigue of tribal society and the monsters lurking in the wilderness or perhaps avenge himself on those who abandoned him. The story is open-ended. You control Ayash; You decide who will live and who will pay. You choose how Ayash fairs on his trail.

Game has potential, especially being developed by a two man team. However, despite being able to run games such as Sons of the Forest on full spec, this game continues to look like a Windows 95 game. For some reason textures do not show properly and detracts from my overall enjoyment. Some janky mechanics but these are being worked on. I have asked for a refund only to be denied. I'd advise waiting for full release of game rather than purchase now. Hopefully there will be optimization and general gameplay fixes in future.
I love the game but honestly needs some more to be playable. It needs auto save feature and has bugs like when you fast travel I keep just falling through the map and cant do anything to stop it. Lost alot of progress because of these two problems alone.
Still cant move around using controller? can punch, jump etc. with controller but useless if I cant walk about using the sticks, until thats sorted I cant play, cant recommend the game because I cant even get out of the first area because I cant move haha
NOOOOOOOO!!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PIECE OF COMPLETE TRASH!!!!! It is a complete Rip off. Games like this need to be removed from Steam. NOTHING works in this game(?)! It is one HUGE pile of bugs. PLEASE avoid it like the plague that it is!!!!
EA Open world ARPG + crafting + controls = Adventure into the world of indigenous tribes. Fight monsters, complete quests and survive. Interact with various characters and tribes. Skyrim like? I played this long enough to see the beauty of it. It is really good for a small team of independents. But it's just not polished enough for me yet. Is it a playable game? Yes. It very much is. Does it have some bugs? Yes, but I found nothing that was game breaking in my time. It just got down to not being polished enough. Which is very much a personal choice thing.
So far i like it, it need some work but seem to work fine for the most part. At the moment i would recommend this. 22.08.2023

Trail of Ayash becomes a far more vivid and imposing experience when approached as a mythic survival journey rather than a conventional open-world RPG. The game immediately distinguishes itself with its commitment to a fictionalized indigenous-inspired world, where spiritual danger, tribal conflict, and the hostility of the wilderness define every step of your path. You play as Ayash, a man cast out and forced to rebuild his identity in a land where alliances are fragile and monsters are more than folklore. This premise gives the adventure a powerful personal thread, as your protagonist’s exile becomes the emotional anchor for a narrative built around perseverance, reclamation, and the complicated politics of tribal society. Exploration is central to the game’s appeal, drawing you through forests, plains, mountains, and haunted places that feel genuinely untamed. The world’s sense of vastness is enhanced by an atmosphere of constant threat—whether it’s a rival tribe stalking your movements, a beast tracking your scent, or something far worse lurking beyond the campfires. The environment is as much a character as the people you meet, with the land’s myths manifesting in deadly forms such as wendigos, rock creatures, and other monstrous beings that reinforce the setting’s supernatural undercurrent. Even simple activities like gathering herbs or hunting animals become tense due to the game’s emphasis on survival, caution, and vulnerability. The interaction between tribes forms another layer of complexity. Each tribe presents a distinct culture, personality, and stance toward Ayash, making diplomacy, trades, and confrontations feel meaningful. You can build trust, forge uneasy alliances, or pursue domination depending on your playstyle. This freedom allows players to shape their version of Ayash not just through combat and exploration but through political choices that influence entire regions. While the system isn’t as refined as larger RPGs with massive teams behind them, it succeeds in giving weight to your decisions and in creating a world that feels lived-in, reactive, and shaped by long-standing tensions. Gameplay itself blends action combat, crafting, resource management, and exploration in a way that is ambitious for a small independent project. Crafting weapons, medicines, tools, and survival items is essential, and though some systems can feel rough or underexplained, they contribute meaningfully to the game’s identity. Combat is fast and often unforgiving, emphasizing timing and positional awareness, especially against supernatural enemies that hit hard and move unpredictably. The survival elements—monitoring supplies, learning recipes, upgrading equipment—can be demanding, but they also enrich the sense of immersion in a harsh, mystical world that is actively trying to kill you. What ultimately defines Trail of Ayash is its atmosphere and vision. Even with unpolished edges, occasional interface frustrations, and animations that reveal its indie scale, the game manages to deliver something strikingly original. It attempts to bring a mythic interpretation of indigenous storytelling into the realm of open-world survival RPGs, and in doing so, it stands apart from more derivative genre offerings. Its roughness can deter players who prefer smooth, modern refinement, but for those willing to embrace a more rugged experience, the world’s sense of danger, mystery, and cultural depth becomes absorbing. Overall, Trail of Ayash is a brave and imaginative project that thrives on its setting, storytelling tone, and survival-driven structure. It may not reach the technical polish of larger titles, but its sincerity, thematic strength, and distinctive world-building make it compelling for fans of atmospheric exploration, folklore-inspired fantasy, and open-ended role-playing. For players who value originality and mood over perfection, it offers a memorable and richly textured journey through a world where myth and survival intertwine. Rating: 6/10
