TRACE Definitive Edition

Roughly 2-3 hours worth of play time, albeit quality. Think the room, but with tracing. The only problem with this game is that you have to manually quit and save, or the game won't take your state into account often enough and you might lose progress.

TRACE is an absolute classic. This remix of the original is a awesome, faithful recreation that adds some lore, likely a precursor to the lore added by LODGE. I predict that when LODGE Definitive Edition releases it will expand on the lore already present in LODGE, but also tie itself to TRACE Definitive Edition. There was a few glitches that were literally game breaking, and one of the final areas lagged the game hardcore, but my laptop is also a potato that would probably lag trying to run og Doom. Overall, Peak TRACE experience. 8/10

Lovely game, which proves you dont need a gigantic map to make a good game. Very nice puzzles, out of the ordinary, often just the thing you wouldn't have expected, very sweet. I hihgly recommend this.

Ich habe mir für den Preis nicht viel von dem Spiel versprochen, aber ich liebe Escape Games und habe schon etliche gespielt. Was soll ich sagen... das spie ist großartig! Tolle, abwechslungsreiche und anspruchsvolle Rätsel & eine gute Umsetzung. Ich liebe es!

Excellent exploration puzzle escape game that enthusiasts of the genre will appreciate. Puzzles are well crafted and nearly all very logical - some puzzles are simple, some are challenging, and some are subtle but they will yield to the usual approach of: what problems do I need to solve, what do I have to work with, and how can I use all information provided. It is relatively short (I took about 4 hours but I was not in a hurry) but well crafted. There's even a mysterious overarching story, which I hope suggests there will be more worlds to come. Kudos to the devs! Well done.

If you wanted to teach a class on immersion in games, TRACE would make a fantastic case study. Technologically, the game isn’t pushing boundaries. No virtualized micropolygon geometry. No dynamic foliage engine. No metahumans (thank god). It doesn’t even have a free-look camera. Yet it absorbed me into its world with a force few games have. There’s an uncanny familiarity, both sensory and mechanical, that’s hard to explain. I’ll give it a shot, though, because that immersiveness is what makes TRACE not only a game worth playing, but analyzing...
