You're trapped deep within the toxic sewers. It's a dangerous place and you have to think quickly in order to survive. Grab all of the keys in a level to open the door to freedom... or at least the next level.

This game is beautiful, though it may be quick, it's challenging and one wrong move might make you restart the level, It has adventure and puzzle, The story is not much but there is one and it's kinda cool. The game is also very cheap, and trust me you get a lot for that 99 cents. Also the art style in this game is awesome. The gameplay is fun too, it feels really satisfying to trap the monsters behind boxes, This game is easy to run, cheap, beautiful and most of all fun.
https://youtu.be/IqIEsZiadyA Trapped in a monster filled sewer littered with keys, it'll take a lot of clever box pushing action to navigate to safety. The lack of a windup animation before pushing a crate makes it way to easy to slip up and slide a box unintentionally. The isometric visuals are a bit too askew often creating confusing when it comes to walking behind objects. The monster AI patterns are unpredictable making navigating around them incredibly difficult. Often it's best to sit and way for long periods of time for them to eventually path away, which is not a fun way to accomplish goals.
You're trapped deep within the toxic sewers. It's a dangerous place and you have to think quickly in order to survive. Grab all of the keys in a level to open the door to freedom... or at least the next level. You move boxes around and try to catch monsters so they can't move anymore. The game is getting real difficult and it's a fun game + it got cards to idle. It's not the "trashy-sort" of Game but nothing I would pay fullprice for. -90% is fine though.
Pretty good game for .99 cents, good puzzles, enemy nice AI, would recomend.
EDIT: The developer is working on fixing my problem with the controller support, so I've decided to edit this review to reflect that. So, think of Sokoban. Classic concept. Now imagine it with monsters chasing you. That's Toxic Terror. While the basic idea is there, and the idea of moving stuff/yourself around a level whilst being chased isn't so novel either (Burger Time, Wrecking Crew, Crazy Castle come to mind) it works well here and is combined with the right kind of clever level design that it needs. Also the horror theme works well, as it reminds one of classic gaming titles with a similar theme and characters (Castlevania, Vampire-Master of Darkness, Nosferatu, etc.). I'd recommend it! ORIGINAL REVIEW: Hey, developer! Either give me the ability to remap the movement to the pad, and not the stick, or make the movement in your game NOT grid-based. NOT RECOMMENDED.
Yes, I beat the game! Very challenging game with SNES graphics and sound. Very easy to get into, but hard to beat. If you're looking for a cheap game that's fun and a challenge you should get it.
You have to wait for enemies to randomly move out of the way to collect keys and if you take too long in a level a ghost spawns that homes on to you. Great idea.
A excellent puzzle platformer in the style of Chip's Challenge & Paganitzu with cooler aesthetics. In this game you min max a path, defensive block pushing, and otherwise hope for the best. I never thought I would beat certain levels; but 9 was the most arduous. Luckily it was the hardest in my opinion and 10 is more of a test of reflexes. Keep at it; you can do it!
Toxic Terror, developed and published by Fascimania, is an indie puzzle-action game that embraces a retro-inspired design and delivers a deceptively simple but brutally unforgiving experience. At its core, the game places players in the role of a small, defenseless character navigating through sewers filled with monsters, traps, and toxic dangers. The rules are clear from the beginning: collect all the keys in a level, unlock the exit, and survive long enough to escape. It sounds straightforward, but the punishing mechanics and instant-death design philosophy ensure that every step requires precision, planning, and nerves of steel. What makes the game engaging is how it combines puzzle-solving with arcade reflexes. The grid-based movement might appear restrictive, yet it emphasizes careful positioning and timing. Enemies and traps are placed in ways that force players to memorize patterns, anticipate dangers, and often make split-second decisions. One wrong move, whether it’s misjudging an enemy’s path or mistiming a block push, immediately results in restarting the level. This level of challenge adds tension to every run and rewards players who are patient enough to learn from repeated failures. It creates a loop of trial and error where success feels hard-earned, making victory satisfying after several attempts. The atmosphere plays a significant role in reinforcing the sense of dread and difficulty. The pixel art is deliberately simple, but it captures the claustrophobic and eerie feel of the sewers. Monsters look menacing despite their minimal design, and environmental hazards blend well with the unsettling tone of the game. Sound design is equally important, with subtle effects and an ominous soundtrack that heightens the anxiety of creeping through corridors where death is always one misstep away. These artistic choices may not dazzle compared to bigger titles, but they serve the gameplay perfectly, giving the game a focused identity. While the main experience already offers dozens of challenging levels, additional content like Episode 2: The Lich’s Lair expands on the formula by adding new puzzles, enemies, and tracks, giving returning players more to chew on. Considering the game’s low price point, the amount of content available provides surprising value for money, especially for fans of tough puzzle platformers who enjoy pushing through difficult stages. The design choices make it clear that the developer intended this to be a game for those who embrace frustration as part of the fun. That said, the punishing nature of Toxic Terror is not without its downsides. The reliance on instant-death mechanics can sometimes cross the line from challenging to unfair, especially when hazards appear with little warning or when enemy placements feel more about luck than skill. Some players may also find the grid-based movement too limiting, making it harder to feel fluid in levels that demand quick reflexes. Additionally, the game offers little in the way of narrative depth beyond a loose setup involving sinister figures sending out minions and traps. For players who enjoy storytelling alongside gameplay, the lack of narrative drive might leave the experience feeling somewhat bare. Despite these shortcomings, Toxic Terror succeeds at delivering a tight, uncompromising puzzle-action experience that will appeal to those who enjoy retro-inspired design and difficult level progression. It’s a game that thrives on repetition, mastery, and the satisfaction of overcoming seemingly impossible obstacles. While its harsh difficulty and minimal presentation may alienate some, others will find themselves hooked on the tense, rewarding challenge it provides. For a small indie project, it achieves exactly what it sets out to do: offer an affordable and memorable test of skill that pays homage to the unforgiving classics of the past. Rating: 7/10
