Very creative games, like their first one "Farm Keeper", they managed to create another unique gameplay.
I'm the kind of person who likes city builders, but doesn't like too much micromanagement. Town Keeper gets the balance absolutely perfect, providing simple concepts that anyone can pick up but with enough depth to keep you hooked. There's a real art in balancing your resources, trade, forests (ie. using them to generate resources or cutting them down for wood) and so on, but it never feels too overwhelming. The combat aspect adds even more depth. You have to manage your unassigned villagers because if they're all working in your buildings then you'll have none left to recruit as soldiers, and vice versa. You can focus on gold production to hire permanent soldiers or use your food production to hire mercenaries (that last for 1 battle each). Or, if your army is powerful enough, you can launch raids for extra resources instead of trading for the ones you need... or you can just defend your city and work towards a different victory condition besides conquest. It adds just enough to make the management aspect even more compelling. Also, the demo doesn't show this but the full game adds a ton of replay value with different maps, perks and cosmetics to unlock (as well as multiple difficulty levels). So if you played the demo and you're wondering where the replay value comes from, then there's your answer.

perfect. hoping for more customizable difficulty options (enemy waves per year, health multipliers or something else)
big and greedy little ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Very good for the price. Different factions with different strengths and weaknesses.
