[/th]
If you are just interested in point and click adventures go here: The Adventure Library Is this game a masterpiece? No, it's just a short point and click adventure. Just finished it in a good two hours play and enjoyed it. Maybe not the bla bla speech instead of real voice actors, but the rest was funny and worked fine. Play Lucas, a dim-witted and slightly brainless tourist guide in a South American town. Fight a conspiracy with the help of a talking monkey. Nice visuals, simple puzzles that consist of using objects at hotspots or other items. Since there are not many items or hotspots, even simple minds like me will not take too long to see the end. Also the puzzles make sense and you always get a rather direct clue of what is needed to do. The story is fun, although it does get a bit more complicated in the end. The game saves at every room, but since you cannot manually save the game you have only one savestate and cannot go back if you want to try something different. Missable achievements, although I got 10 out of 10 by reading the description of the missing cheavos which helped me to guess what I had to do. Conclusion: Funny little indie point and click adventure game.

Alright. Tourist Trap is done and dusted. This was a short point & click adventure, weighing in at just over two hours. It was a very polished game and was quite enjoyable overall. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3144893052 First off, the art direction was stellar. You can really tell that the developers poured a lot of love into the graphics and the set pieces. The lush colors really pop and everything seems so vibrant and alive. The detail is top notch. Everything really looks exactly like it should, and nothing was sloppy or just slapped together. This was very impressive. What’s funny is that, as beautiful as the vacation town presented in the game is, there is an underlying sinister aspect to everything. The story is really about losing your identity and culture to corporate greed, obviously in exaggerated fashion, but some of the dialogue really drives this point home. The dialogue at times talks about having to learn the tourist’s language to satisfy their entitlement and losing some of their culture to satisfy the needs of said tourists. This is really illustrated from the very beginning of the game and throughout. I think it’s interesting how, no matter where you’re from, the thought that visitors should really be learning your language and culture rather than bringing theirs with them, is a shared ideology. Which does not travel well apparently, lol. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3144892680 Everybody in the game speaks in “blah blah blahs” with inflections to carry emotion and urgency. I thought I was going to be annoyed by this, but actually, it was pretty amusing throughout. If the game was longer, IDK, but as is, it made me chuckle repeatedly. There are of course subtitles so you know what’s actually going on. The story was both fun and approachable, and shockingly dark. Shocking because the presentation is somewhat deceptive. In a good way. There were many misspellings in the game, and a quick re-edit of the script wouldn’t be a terrible use of post release support time. Gameplay-wise, the puzzles in this game actually made sense, and as a result, trial and error was kept to a minimum. The only one that was moderately challenging was realizing that the thing you’d been looking at in one of the stores was actually the skateboard you needed to finish one specific puzzle. Otherwise, the typical PnC puzzle logic was thankfully absent. I played this game on the Steam Deck, and it worked just fine. I mostly used the touchscreen outside of utilizing the Y button to bring up the inventory. You can finish the game on a single battery charge. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3144892810 All told, the story and graphics really make the cost vs value at retail price acceptable. $10 for this level of detail is appropriate. I’d say it’s definitely worth a look if you’re a point and click fan. If you're an old kid eagerly awaiting the next point-and-click graphic adventure made by and for fans of the adventures of the 90s, this is a perfect gift for the holiday season!
The game is extremely short. There are no puzzles. Characters are not memorable. Story is not memorable. Voice-over is extremely annoying, I had to turn off the voice for the entire game. Some parts are just straight boring so you have to click 50 times to skip the dialogue just to end it. Music is good. Art-style is good.
With a distinct art style and cheeky, but dark humor, Tourist Trap presents a take on graphic adventures that weaves in a narrative that deals with themes of neocolonial explotation and horror. The game is concise and doesn't overstay its welcome, coming to a solid ending with a potent message without wasting your time. You won't find a game in this genre that leaves an impression quite like Tourist Trap.
Cute and easy point and click adventure. Nice artwork and story. Monkey island vibes with simple puzzles though.
I really wish the story was longer because I enjoyed my time in quite a lot. Despite the bright happy art, the story is a bit on the dark side with lots of dark humor. Love that the dev wasn't afraid to tackle a heavy topic. The puzzles weren't too difficult to figure, but not so easy you'd get it right away either. Also, I personally thought all the different toned "blah blah blah" the characters did for dialogue was funny. This for me is a good experience in the point & click adventure genre.
Short but solid point and click adventure. Absurd humor, colorful graphics, weird plot. It's definitly on the easy side, probably one of the easiest point and click games i played, each segment of the story only has a few screens and there is no backtracking and only a handful of objects. you probably finish this in 2-3 hours.
¡Me encantó! Super recomendado.
A very short 2 hour adventure heavily inspired by Monkey Island (maybe too much?) Definitely a passion project that was very ambitious and rushed but still fun if you like points and click (specially if you live in latam) and bug free! rare treat these days. My only big issue is that the game lacks voices and the worst to come out of this is that they went with incredible bothersome mumbling noises for each character. Luckily you can turn it off on options and I can only recommend playing this game under that setup. Lastly, art is very good.
