5/10: This game is a beta release that never got finished. There are no cities or even towns; just a fort on top of a dirt mound. The towers are pathetic, special abilities are a joke, like fire arrows that last for a single shot before they run out, meaning towers often won't catch fire and it takes literally five (5) minutes for the ability to be reset. Because... The enemy agents are brutal, even in Easy Mode, "cities" will randomly have Unrest for no reason, and you never have enough resources or time to do anything you want, like taking the capital, Kyoto. Mount Fuji looks like it was made with Microsoft Paint in battles. You either have to commit to a strong army, a strong navy, major income buildings, or agent buildings. That's it. You would think you could spread the love around, but no. If you do that, you hurt yourself and everything but what you focus on is mediocre at best, because each piece of this game is vital to your survival. Therefore, it's nearly impossible to win the game given the specific win conditions it gives you. The starting units are absolutely worthess, which means you have to wait and upgrade your army with samurai before you can even start conquering. Japan feels exceptionally small, the quests are extremely basic, and very little is explained. And when it is, it is explained slowly with a heavy Japanese accent. For authenticity, of course... You can't even invade China or Korea, despite the fact that in historical reality, Toyotomi Hideoshi sent 300,000 samurai to Korea during this time period to mess up stuff on the continent. Also, there was no Shogun (with power) until Togugawa Ieyasu took over after the civil wars were nearly at an end. There was the Emperor in Kyoto, but he had very little power and no army to mess up your conquest... The battles are "kind-of" fun? Smoother unit movement than most other games, less friendly fire, chasing down fleeing units is easier, and the blood graphics are good (if you pay for it, that is). Otherwise, the siege battles are some of the worst in the entire series. Cookie-cutter battles with little detail. I played this game a decade ago, and it does not hold up. So many lost opportunities, but Creative Assembly and SEGA made this game more boring than real life. The game is a 3/10 if you don't pay for the Blood and Guts "DLC" sold separately graphical option. Pathetic. CA is getting worse with each game, and unless this new gaming engine for Warhammer 40k with a wicked STORY knocks it out of the park, this series is on its last legs. Hopefully they can do better than this.

Worst decision ever to buy this game, ai op as ♥♥♥♥ they are cheating, stupid Dev make this game sick
